Northwest Fishing Reports

Hey guys ol' BBD needs some good suggestions on some effective spinnerbaits that have proven to do well on lake washington .. I currently use a strike king quad willow leaf .. Not to say that it not producing im leaning more to "match the hatch" is size and color .. any suggestions !! thanks

My favorite spinnerbait pattern on lake washington is blue/chartruse. Ive also done well in firetiger type patterns. Everyone always tells me to throw white, but guess how many white spinnerbait fish I've caught in lake WA? That's right, 0. And its not for lack of trying. I'm not saying they wont work, just not for me! I've found willow leaf (single and double) to work better than colorado (unless its the mini ones) as well. I never have fished a SB with more than two blades. This is all non-scientific, shorebound info of course, but take it how you will :compress: .

1/4 oz chartreuse with a bronze willow leaf blade worked earlier for me this year.

thanks BMP200 , i have heard that same thing about that white being good aswell , but im not a big fan of solid colors unless im cranking .. what im seeking here is size , and colors that have been proven to produce on this lake only and not in general .. your post does help and thanks again bro ...BBD

I used a 1/2 oz white/blue double willow with chrome blades. I caught some pigs last year during the fall and this postspawn. I've seen a smaller chartreuse/white willow/colorado blade work as well for smaller fish. I'm not sure about the quad blades, I think it might stay too shallow.

You talking spring time Sam ? ... chartresuse and smallmouth go hand and hand ... thanks dude i haven't tried bronze blads yet , been stuck on silver .. hmmm ...

thats been my problem Kzoo and thats whats making me want to switch up .. thanks for the info .. BBD

As for size i usually fish 1/2oz but sometime ill downsize to 3/8 or even 1/8 (like those mini-kings are killer for #s!) and see if they still want the spinnerbaits at all, which they often do in the smaller sizes. But I am usually slow rolling and tickin bottom with the large ones. I might even pick up some full ounce and largers next yr...

Nice ... spinners that time of year is without question a great lunker lure .. this is some good feed back , Bpm those mini-kings are a go to .. I always find it so interesting when i see different anglers give different views of the same bait , i believe everything said is true and that gives me a lil more confidence in exploring a wider range of spinners on that lake .. ill be working on fine tuning spinners on washington and ill report back ... thanks again guys...Dez

Let us know how you do, I had some luck with largies last fall using spinnerbaits at Washington, no lunkers, but quality size.
