Northwest Fishing Reports

Have any of you fished Shoecraft lake near Marysville this year? Some of the very old reports looked promising, but I think there wasn't anything too recently posted. I thought of checking it out.

its a tough launch there



the water is very shallow. check it out before you bring your boat there.

Definently wanted to thank you in advance for the tip on the bad launch. Is it just a matter of you have to back your trailer in the lake like 40' or something in order to get depth clearance?

the launch is steep and only made of gravel.

the water is about 3 feet or so, but it really goes up and down. it can be done, but its the greatest launches ive seen. ive never seen a bass boat on there yet, and the people who have water crafts on there are smaller boats.

its a great lake from out experience. from what we heard before it was an awesome bass lake.

Have fished the lake in the past -

The boat launch is on the outlet. A nice parking lot but you have to back the trailer down a gravel bank and launch your boat in the shallow channel - maybe 25 feet wide. As mentioned the channel at the point of launchingis only a couple feet deep. However there is a shallow sill as you move out towards the lake that can be quite shallow (a few inches) at low lake levels. Car toppers and shallow draft boats are usually ok though this late in the season it may be a problem. Be prepared to get through the shallows (oars/pole/waders).

In the last few years like many areas break ins have been a problem.

That lake has some nice LMB and have caught some very respectable stingers in the past; inaddition there are rainbow trout, perch, crappie, sunfish and a few smallies.
