:-$ The green pumpkin has been good the past two weeks. I haven't tryed the sweet beaver much the only color I have is brown its I use it with my jigs. When you were out at Island and you got the 8+ did you get her on the north end by the pads on the wooded side? There is a big one that hangs in that area but she looked bigger than 8 when we saw her a few yrs back. And there may be some Keeper hooks in her she broke one of my buddys line last year the fish never came close to the top of the water his north bend reel couldn't git her in. You get what you pay for!
Are you hung up again!

I caught that fish about 100 yds to the right of the public fishing pier (looking at the water). There's a big laydown about 20 feet out from shore and I was just hopping that little Craw Bug around the wood. I think it was only my second or third cast of the hour or so I was there.

Green pumpkin and black are the about the only colors of soft plastics I've gotten any bites on out here in the PNW (granted they are the ones I use the most anyway, even in other areas of the country).

I've always liked throwing plastic lizards for LMB and usually get pretty good results on them. Best colors in stained water are black/chartreuse and junebug/chartreuse. In clearer water I tend to stick with natural colors like pumpkinseed and green/brown.

Trent turned me on to throwing those monster worms so I just ordered some this morning, should be here on Friday. Picked up a pack in red shad and another in pumpkinseed. I'll probably try them out this weekend on Chambers.

But my favorite plastics are frogs. Whether it's a plastic shell or solid body or hardnose, plastic frogs almost always produce around pads, heavy grass and stumps. I've got everything from green/black to black/chartreuse, pumpkinseed, and black/red. I usually fish the darker colors topwater across pads and let the natural colors sink down below the pads. I'm sure you could fish them any way you wanted and get good results - if there's bass around they'll usually go for a frog. Them's good eatin!

Back when I was younger I loved a Carolina rigged red shad power worm. It was money off of the Potomac and Occuquan Reservoirs in Virginia. The WA Bass have yet to show a liking to that style for me though :eye: but I trek on :)

My favorites are a Yamamoto double tail hula grub (watermellon) or a 5 inch kalins grub (watermellon seed or pumpkin seed). Both of these I 'usually' attach to a quarter ounce white or black jig head. Then again, sometimes, if the bass won't hit the five inch plastics, I will switch over to smaller, three inch grubs, attached to probably an eighth of an ounce jig head. Plastics are my favorite bait for bass and I love them!

My favorite plastic has got to be the 4/5" Yamamoto twin-tail grub in green pumpkin. Its probably my most consistent performer. Some days I feel like a one trick pony; throwing this same lure the entire time becuase it works well for me.

I picked up some senkos, roboworms, and some craws for this season during the winter... lets see if I can broaden my horizons in the coming months!
