North American Fishing Club recently did an article on this. I'll try to find it.

Goes to show that fishing isn't anything other than putting your bait (whatever it is)in front of hungry fish. And having it at least resemble a little bit of a natural food source or irritant.

Don't overlook BRASS. It's amazing in cloudy weather, rainy weather, sun break and shower weather, sunny weather, etc...it's amazing...brass triple teasers...brass needlefish, etc...you get the point, brass produces big time.

All I can say about this topic is that some times a certain color is the key. You could have the same lure, same presentation and a paticular color is catching fish and the other color isn't or isn't working as well. Some color seem to work better in differnt lakes and rivers for the same speices. Water conditions, forage coloration and season probly determan these factors. All really know is for the lakes near where I live that copper/pumpkin seed color works the best for prespawn bas for me.
Well its not called Catching!

Quick reply on the cajun line theory:
Red is the first color filtered out of the color spectrum, but it does not become invisible. It looks grey. So if you want a line that appears grey use it. If you want line that is almost invisible use flourocarbon.
