Pete Heley is a self published author. He lives in Oregon and most of his books feature that state. If you go to the Oregon Forums on the forum page you can see a list of the books he has available.tagwatson360 wrote:Hey Mike, can you tell us any more about the specifics of this book???
The books are in the 100 page range, soft-cover, black and white, and for this one will feature popluar lakes/rivers throughout Washington state specifically for bass fishing. I would say it's meant as a nice reference guide for quality bass lakes to check out. His Oregon bass book lists over 400 bass and pan fish lakes. He breaks the state down by county and I would imagine he will do the same with Washington. When he is done with this book I'll post details on how to order, as he sells everything exclusively through his PO box, not retail outlets.

not nearly the size and depth. More along the lines of a Washington State Fishing Guide dedicated to just bass lakes.ChrisB wrote:So its like a Terry Rudnick style book ?

I'm not going to send in a picture as i don't want to break his printing press trying to print my ugly mug. My picture has shut down the whole internet twice already, can't be taking any more chances.

LOL remember I USED to be bigbasstaz for a reason:-" I got to break 8 lbs a couple weeks before I moved here... Now I catch pig trout not bass#-o But as long as the trout average is over 3 lbs I am happy. (I kept a tally this year and with my 10, 7.5, and multiple 5 lbers my average trout this year was 3.6 lbs!Marc Martyn wrote:That fine, Studley. So many to pick from. But I think I have a few high quality and clean clarity pics that he might like.

How will we know if the picture is accepted for use in the book?

Uhhhh, you'll see your picture in it.Marc Martyn wrote:How will we know if the picture is accepted for use in the book?
Pete got right back to me via email after I sent him my pics. He said he has enough bass pics to finish the book but was still looking for "neat captions (unusual circumstances, etc)" for bass pics.
Plus he said he is still looking for panfish pics, a few Pend Oreille Pike pics and some channel cat photos, all with descriptions.
Just hit him up by emailing him.

Normally, the author notifies the owner of the photograph that it will be published. He should be doing this for copyright reasons.

RE:Would you like your picture in a soon to be published Bass Book?
I think Pete should at least send everybody who donated a photo a copy of his book. A few years ago Gary Lewis wrote a book titled "Freshwater Fishing Oregon and Washington." He not only paid me a generous sum for each of the photos but also sent me a copy of the book. For anyone who has not seen his book, I would recommend it -- And, you could see photos of my Mayfield Muskie and my PB Silver Lake bass. B.J.
A nice bass is too valuable a resource to enjoy catching only once.

seems like a reasonable thing to do.
