Second stop in the PSFTC County Fish-in Tour

Post by Bisk1tSnGraV » Fri May 08, 2009 7:38 am

We have our May fish-In scheduled. Last month we explored King County and now in May we are heading the other direction and going down to Thurston County. Let me know if you will be able to make it as we are also combining our May Meeting with this Fish-In.

What: PSFTC County Fish-in Tour
Where: Chambers Lake (Thurston County)
When: 16 May 2009 @ 7:30 am
Who: All interested in learning more about the Puget Sound Float Tube Club

We will be starting at Chambers Lake in the morning and if the bite isn't on we will move over to McIntosh Lake.

The gate at Chambers opens at 7am-ish. It's pretty easy to find on Google Maps:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=cha ... a=N&tab=wl

Switch to Satellite view and look at the north end of the lake - you'll see the parking lot and boat launch there.

We can also have groups get together so we can carpool and make the travel a little easier.

that's a good location for me, and a lake I've never been to! I'll definitley give it some thought. I've never floated in anything but shorts though and it's still a bit cold for that I think.

its not too cold for shorts...I was at banks last weekend and water temp was 45....you just go numb after a while. Again, you schedule a meeting when i will be out of town...over at banks for 5 days...again. Hopefully ill be able to make the next one in June, possibly a north end lake?

You guys should've combined the fish-in with the Extravaganza May 23rd @ Sammamish. Are we going to get to see any of you guys up there?
Have to work all that weekend. Man, I wanna play.
All be waiting for the Kitsap Tour.

Sorry, got another thing going that afternoon north of Seattle, will have to catch the next one!
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Started at Chambers. Fishing was slow. R0cky23 hooked and lost his first bass, 2 lbs...popped off in the pads. He was jacked up tho..was great to see. I got one around 2 lbs on a jig and that was all for there. We migrated to Long Lk and headed right. I got a rock bass on the jig, Aaron had a hit but was preoccupied LOL and Bisk1tsnGraV had a hit but missed. Slow fishing but great company. Looking forward to the next time!

Next time, we need to pick a lake that doesn't have a cutie in a bikini out pressure washing her deck.

She was awfully friendly, though. It wouldn't have been gentlemanly of me to ignore her and just keep on fishing while she was talking to me.

Yep, I was.

That one dock with the 3 barking dogs - the owners were out sunning when I was leaving. Some guy in a canoe got too close to their dock and that big black dog almost went into the water after him. I've never seen a guy in a canoe paddling that fast before LOL

No ... I meant fishing for fish ... LOL. My legs were ready to paddleas fast as I could as I thought those dogs thought of me as a milk bone for sure.
