I haven't been there in a while so not much help, just watch out for LOW WATER. Lowest water level that most people can remember, can make navigating certain areas difficult. If you see crab creek on a map, best to stay away from that.

I enjoyed potholes a few times this summer... haven't brought in any keepers, but had luck along the rocky east-end shoreline. They seemed to like anything with a worm on it... No bites on baitless rigs. Great place, would like to hear how your trip goes...

BTW...
There's a place south a few miles called Frenchman Hills... might be worth a try if you're looking for bass ...You can search for my report with pics

the LM's have been coming closer to the dam, to mingle with the smallies. I have been using salt-n-pepper curly tail grubs, with minimal weight. water is low, but, the fatties are starting to fatten up for winter. be there the next 3 week-ends in silver/maroon alumaweld, hollar! the wally's have also been showing themselves, trolling the humps towards the sand dunes with spinners/worm set-ups.

I have this saved as a favorite - great place to camp and fish.

They give weekly reports on their newsletter. I am jealous that you are going! I have a dumb wedding to go to or me and my son were going to camp this weekend there.

Jens try to hit up goose island we did pretty well there and also there is a no name island out there, but if you go to the mardon office they will show you on the map where it is. oh yeah stay away from the dunes it is way too shallow there bottom out a couple of times.
