Appropriate fishing times at Banks

Post by SnohoBassGuy » Thu Jun 26, 2008 11:20 am

I usually fish Banks just before Memorial weekend, as I did this year. I never get skunked, and the weather is decent. Now, my buddies and I want to go back. Are the coming months too warm for good bass fishing? I would like to go anytime between now and Labor day, but I would like some advice from everyone. When have you gone, and did you have any luck? Did you fish mornings, afternoons, evenings? Any lure/color change from what you would previously had used in May-June?

Thanks everyone.

the more productive months for numbers are the summer months. the catch quantity should surely rise.

as the weather gets warmer everything becomes more predictable. during the heat, they will stick close to cover and the shad, where ever that may be in the body of water you are fishing.

if the choice were up to me, i would never fish mornings because i like my sleep. so my choice would be night fishing. hone your skills during the day in preperation for the night. big lures, big topwater and lights are a must. if you are in doubt with anything above, here is my statement - honestly you cant go big enough, you cant reel in fast enough.

We fished Banks last year during Labor Day Weekend. Try dropshotting with small plastics in about 25 ft of water off the rocky shores and points. We caught tons of smb in the 2.5 - 3.0 range along with some good size perch. We stayed at the motel in Electric City and launched out Coulee Playground next door. Good Fishing and tight lines
