dropshot hooks

just a quik question do you need those fancy hooks that keep your bait strait up and down?
hurdle the dead and trample the weak

NO. just tie a Palomar knot and then pass the tag end (tail end of line) back through the hook hole from the top and your hook should stand out off of the line like the expensive hooks do.

You don't have to use a StandOut hook but they do help.
Like 2000subaru said, just pass the tag end of your line through the top of your hook eye and pull it down. Here is a Palomar knot walkthrough if anyone needs help with this knot. http://www.animatedknots.com/palomar/index.php
