thats close to some decent waters - tapps, fivemile, steel, sawyer, etc. Just go early before the water skiiers come out!

I dont fish south too often so cant help with the specifics of any of these but i know some of these guys here do so hpoefully they will chime in.

Obviously fuel costs are through the roof,so this might be a problem. But some really great bass lakes are a little further south.Lakes in south Pierce are ok..I'd try Alder. And if you want to go a little further...try Riffe,Mayfield...and the best spot (IMHO)Silver in Cowlitz County.I know its a long drive but since your coming all the way from the eastside,I'd hate to see you get skunked out there.

Good luck

If he lives in Black Diamond, he is only about 20 to 30 minutes from Lake Sammamish, which should be good for both smallmouth and largemouth right now. Another option more towards Black Diamond area would be Meridian, which is right off of Highway 18. Also Sawyer and the other lakes mentioned by bpm2000 are decent lakes as well.

I hear ya...Just throwing something else out there. A 4-6hour drive is long but I sure wouldn't travel that far to go to Fivemile
Maybe try Sawyer or the other one's mentioned.
