Munn or Chambers
I am taking my father out fishing in our float tubes on Saturday in the Olympia area, and was wondering which of these two lakes people have had better luck at for bass (both numbers and size). In the alternative, is there a different small lake that you would recommend? Thanks in advance for any replies.

RE:Munn or Chambers
I've never fished chambers but while I was working in Lacey the county guy who came by every day to check on us was a bass fisherman and he talked up chambers a lot. So we went there to find out they dont open the gate until 8 am we were there at 5 am we moved on to another lake. And AaronE says it a good bass lake one day I'll try it.
Are you hung up again!

I'm planning on hitting Chambers either Saturday or Sunday. My wife has a race on Sunday in Tacoma so I might drop her off and go hit it for a few hours. Got some new plastics on the way from Tackle Warehouse so gotta try 'em out. I'm sure my wife will understand

The fishery at chambers has gone down in the last five years, use to produce some good ones,a few in one day.The last outing i had there about 2 weeks ago made my mind up that i will never go back.Certain group of people catching all bass 5 in a boat, keeping all they catch, told me loves this place come here alot and catch bass ,thay all good eating.Took alot for me to not run them over in my boat, packed it up and left, thats all i got to say.So have fun if ya go maybe you will find some
RE:Munn or Chambers
Thank you all for the feedback. It sounds like Munn might be the better bet, but that Chambers could be worth a try.

bassmasterderek, would Munn be a good lake for a relative newbie to bass fishing like my father? Or is there somewhere else you might recommend?bassmasterderek wrote:Munn has produced more fish for me this year! I agree with sparky that chambers has definately gone downhill the last few years. Again, thanks to everyone for their insights.

Munn is a perfect beginners lake trout and bass fishing is good and it is small. 90% of the shore is pads so it is perfect bass water with plenty of cover. I was out the other day and caught a couple with Derek he had a nice one eat a frog. I would check out Offut also they have a resort out there that is great for fishing/camping. I have caught many bass out there so pm me if you would like any info on that lake it is only 5 or so miles from Munn!

Honestly kevin K the best bass lake in this are that i recommed for people learning to bass fish is St. Clair. It has allot of bass in it. Yeah there is allot of small ones in there but just know that a small bass will always beat a big bass to your bait so don't leave an area just cause you caught a small one.
Munn is good though. There are some decent sized bass in it! Frogs work awsome at munn!
