Swim Baits

Post by lskiles » Fri Sep 28, 2007 3:15 pm

Hey all you guys that have been thinking about swim baits...

I thought you might enjoy this story from ESPN.com.

The "Pardee's 9.83 smallie eclipses California mark" story is located at http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/fish ... id=2931118

That is a big fish!

Ready for a road trip!! Maybe one of us could come close to that up here. I KNOW that we could definitely top 8-pounds somewhere up here.

Yea that was a good one.

Here's another Pardee smallie, proof of C&R working its magic! (too bad that record one was killed)

Wouldnt that suck if she was caught and then mounted. That would give no1 else the chance to catch her.
If in doubt set the hook!

Old bass like that don't revive too well. And the fish would be even smarter if it survived, so the chances of it making another one's day is close to zero. Barren too. I personally would mount it.

Why would you mount it?
Reproduction mounts are so much better now then conventional mount.
Repro's come back to you so much faster, look so much better, and don't peel after a bunch of years.
Don't chase reports...Be the report others chase....

Thats perfectly fine with me if it got smarter. Then it'll be able to add to the monster genepool without someone else dragging it out of the lake and maybe taking it home.

Everyone says that about replicas, I personally think real fish mounts look better than replicas, at least they look more real. They don't last as long, you need to get them refinished every some years. Replicas are more expensive. I was going to have one done (replica), and it was going to cost 50% more than the real mount, I just ended up with a picture and letting the fish go.
