I know these are not bass but I recently ran across these “dink” pictures. The posing anglers are my oldest kids, now adults. My daughter is questioning the sanity of her father, “Something about making us come all the way up here to catch bait” The picture was taken while fishing off the Gaviota beach pier in southern California. The story associated with my sons dink is long but a crack-up. The short version is that we had just spent the morning fishing for yellowtail and white seabass (20-45 pounds) and figured that we would fish a shallow reef that I knew about and see if we could catch a pargo or two to make ceveche back at camp. When he caught this little guy we all busted out laugh’n and I think it was the most memorable fish of the day. The fish was caught while we were camping in Baja.

[quote="Amx"]Image Image Nope, that's the way it came out of the water. As soon as I touched the fish, it flopped and the senko flew out.

If you look at the picture close enough, you'll note the picture is acually upside down. I figured if I tried to turn the fish 'right side up' to where I was, then maybe the fish would throw the senko, so I took the picture first, then tried to turn the fish around. It flopped and out came the senko.

lol I caught a little largemouth just like that today at Meridian. I didnt set the hook because I knew it was something small. Just reeled it in and pulled it into the boat and saw how it was "hooked", lol.

This is the smallest in my life and the only fish I caught this day. The lure is a JSR-7 jointed RAPALA.
