I like your thought process...when it becomes a task it ceases to be an enjoyable past-time. I've had the same issue in the "quest" to catch a day's limits, forgetting it's the experience, not the results, that matter most. A break is a good thing sometimes!

fill gallon juice or milk jugs with the 2 part foam, seal with the cap and secure bottles together? Just brainstorming...

not whole herring, but I always add a herring strip to my hoochies. Mainly targeting coho, I do get the random king with that set up.

As an insert but for me not the Needlefish, just the standard Ace Hi Fly. I do put some beads above the top hook in order to get the hooks a little further back. I know everyone these days is into short squid leaders behind flashers. Each to his own but I like longer leaders; 36" for Coho and 42 ev...
