Re: Bowfishing
At times I have seen them surfacing all over Linde Coulee. There sure seems to be no shortage of them there, though I haven't been this year. Best of luck!

Re: Pros and Cons of OverPowering a Boat
I have been quiet lately but have been watching, appreciatively. I have ordered one of those tach's and will test as suggested. I think the prop I have is 9 1/2 x 10, which I believe is the stock prop, and dings have been smoothed out, but maybe it is no longer a 9 1/2 having been 'fixed' often. My ...

Re: Looking for a pup or young dog for my daughter
Condolences, Bob. If you are anything like me, your dog was virtually a family member and the hurt is deep. Time will help. If you have even considered possibly getting another, I don't think it is a disservice to the one you have just lost, to get another shortly after. You'd not be trying for a su...

Re: Side planer boards?
I have been using one for a couple of years now, but like many, originally saw much awkwardness to them. If you are considering giving one a shot, you may want to at least have a look at a SideWinder planer board (short YouTube video). Their design is quite different and eliminates 2 concerns I had ...

Re: Walleye low light fishing?
Hi Craig, A resource that I found highly valuable is a YouTube series on Walleye by Seth Burrill of the Ax Academy (Angler's Experience). There are actually 3 walleye series that he has on there. They deal with all aspects of walleye and walleye fishing. I'm sure all your questions about low-light w...

Re: Pros and Cons of OverPowering a Boat
Thank you all for taking the time to consider this and provide input. As far as shaft length, I understand that the short shaft I have is appropriate for this boat. My friend has a long shaft (more drag) 15 HP, of the same make on essentially the same boat and with us both in his, we go 16-18 mph. I...

Pros and Cons of OverPowering a Boat
Situation: I have a 12' HiLaker that I really enjoy. I don't need anything bigger. I'm not small, 5'10" ~ 220lbs. This makes the boat back heavy, even though the gas tank is up front. I have an older (2 stroke) 15 HP Evinrude, that just won't plane the boat. Maybe its the motor, maybe not. The boat ...

Well there ya go! Way out on a limb, but I for one am very curious as to what you will receive. Consider it an experiment. Your review will go a long way to impacting how this unit is perceived. I hope it turns out to go well above and beyond! Let us know.

Re: Help with Moses lk plz
I got in late yesterday from a 4 day fishing trip to the area and stayed at the Center Lodge In Grand Coulee. I usually go with friends (2-4 boats) and have done this once or twice, spring and fall for the last 3-4 years. So far, the boats have been fine parked outside the hotel. While the city may ...

I was referring to the Grand Coulee Center Lodge. I just couldn't remember the whole name. Good to know about the Spring Canyon launch. They had thought that it was unusable at this point.

Re: For Walleye, what is considered an eater? and why?
I spoke with the Grande Lodge today and water levels in Roosevelt are way down in anticipation of the coming snow melt. Check on that before you go. Also, I've heard of rattlesnakes on the shores. I know little of them or when that might be a concern, but keep that in mind as well. Best of luck. I w...

Re: For Walleye, what is considered an eater? and why?
Hey Dave. I have only been fishing walleye for the last few years but sure do enjoy it. Any ideas where you might be headed? Some friends and I are headed to Banks Lake this weekend. While walleye won't give you the best fight per inch, they are fun to fish for, taste great and get up to a nice size...

Re: April Outing Set for Western Wa. Walleye Club
Hewesbob: A few friends (now down to 4 of us in 3 boats) and I are headed to Banks this weekend. The focus will be walleye. We usually launch at the Northrup spot, just east of Steamboat Rock. Any thoughts/suggestions you might have, here or pm, would be greatly appreciated. The reports haven't been...

Re: Help with Moses lk plz
Thanks for the report. I hate the outcome but greatly appreciate all your effort. My annual spring fishing trip (6-7 people in 4 boats) to Potholes and Moses Lake, is scheduled for next weekend. The limited forecast for Potholes has us diverted to Banks Lake this time, but I did expect better for Mo...

Re: Help with Moses lk plz
Great advice Bob! Makes perfect sense, and even if the walleye don't happen to be there that particular time, I would be quite happy pulling in half a dozen decent sized perch! Good tasting fish. Thank you!

Also, I've had great luck launching Connelly park and heading due south. Keep to the western shore, at the drop off, which is close to the middle of the body of water, 12-14' deep, slow death or work harnesses. I'll be hitting Banks next weekend. Best of luck!

Re: Ordered a new Rod Today
I bought that exact rod at the sportsman's show in Tacoma recently. Then I ordered an Abu Garcia Black Max Low Profile reel (~$45). I plan to use them both for the 1st time, when I head to the Banks area in 10 days. Best of luck!

Re: Kitsap county bank fishing opportunities?
You might try Wildcat. Bank fishing is really only at the launch, which is productive, but consequently well used - bring a chair. Tiger is a bit further and still is launch only, but this area is larger. Nearby Panther is best for trout but has very little bank area. With your pontoon boat, all 3 w...
