Anyone been to Kitsap Lake recently?
Am thinking of bringing the pontoon out after dinner to try for some evening bass fishing along the shore near the boat launch, just curious if anyone has fished this lake recently. Are the perch in the shallows yet? Bass? Don't see any fishing reports for the lake since 2017.

Re: Metal detecting
My dad and I used to do this at the beaches along the Puget Sound. After a couple years we had a mason jar halfway full of metal things we found. Best things we found were a mercury dime, a few silver quarters, 3 or 4 buffalo nickels, same number of wheat pennies, a button off of a sailor's uniform ...

Re: 69th Annual Kids Fishing Party
Wish I would have known about this earlier, I could have given a hand with things like raceway screens, I built several of these along with backstop damboards for the puyallup hatchery's salmon and brown trout raceways. Hope the event goes well!

Yay! I can make it after all.
Jeff +1.
Already mailed cookies, if there is anything else needed that's somewhat inexpensive let me know. My budget is pretty tight.

Re: Opening Weekend!
My FAVORITE place to be on opening day, and weekend, is ON MY COUCH, or I stay in bed. http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/default/boogie.gif Haha! Well for good reason. It often can be a sh-t show as there are so many people thinking they can just go pick some fish out of the lake...

Re: Camping/Trout Fishing Lake for Family
I just got back from a lake in Kittitas County that I would highly recommend for new anglers. It's called Mattoon Lake. You can see I-90 from the lake, there is a road that goes around most of the lake for decent shore access, but if you have a small boat (non-motorized) it is fantastic fishing. The...

Re: Camping/Trout Fishing Lake for Family
I would aggree with Silver lake as well. Mostly because it is a central camping location for a lot of great local Whatcom County lakes. Toad lake is nearby, and provides good numbers of trout. Tarrell is also nearby for any warmwater desires. They have bass and yellow-belly catfish. Rumored to have ...

Re: Skookumuchuck river
Not really, I just didn't realize when the WDFW public access site said a certain access point is open year around, it didn't mean the river was open for fishing year around, the river system's season is completely independent of the water access' closures. That one really threw me for a loop.

Re: Mukilteo boat ramp
May 14th for the docks, the ramps are in the water year round. It's a great launch if you do it right. Not a launch for a single person. It takes one in the boat and one in the rig. Back in fire it up and go. Same for picking passengers. Pull in to the shore or dock and jump and go. Not a launch fo...

Sorry YellowBear, my time was spent much further north than the Columbia or Lake Roosevelt, those topics are out of my wheelhouse.

Thanks for all the advice!pcallejo wrote:not to over-complicate the topic, but dont forget about water clarity. personally, i believe that should be your 1st determination of bait selection.
This comment brings up another topic alltogether, what are your top determinators when picking a lure and presentation?

Re: 115 hp merc not accelerating
There is a difference. If your Shell has a sign on the pumps that says "May contain up to 10% ethanol" this may very well be your problem as well. Ethenol is hydroscopic, meaning it will absorb water from the air, from condensation inside your fuel tank, pretty much anywhere it is available. If you ...

I don't understand what you are trying to say. One page says it is open year round, another says it is not. Both say it is Blue Creek. Both also say it is a tributary of the Cowlitz...
