Re: Do I need to exchange my battery?

And now the next question, what charger should I get? I'm assuming any 2-5 amp charger with an auto-off would be fine?

Re: Do I need to exchange my battery?

So in theory the 101 AH rating at 1 Amp pull would estimate the runtime of a 30 amp trolling motor to be around 3 hours and 11 minutes when running at full capacity, the RC rating of 65 would suggest around 2 hours and 10 minutes, so I am guessing I should assume it would work for around 2 hours if ...

Re: Do I need to exchange my battery?

Alright, so i went to return this battery at Walmart. They tried telling me I couldn't return it because I had used it. I told them to bring a manager over, and told him one of their associates was the reason I bought this battery, and I wasn't going to pay for someone else's ****-up. Long story sho...

Re: Long Lake/Lake Spokane trout??

Longer and more slender with less color sounds like Kokanee to me. I have no idea what is in the lake though, I've never fished it. The ones that had more color, if they were between 8 and 12 inches, were probably your regular stockers.

Re: Do I need to exchange my battery?

I think I'd rather have it go bad just before the warranty, so I could get a new one for free xD

Somethign weird going on with attached photos

Take a look here: http://www.northwestfishingreports.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24129 Original post had a photo in it. The attachment preview in the post itself is upside down. If you click on it to view the larger version, it is rightside up. I downloaded the picture and tried posting it from my...

IMG_1910.JPG IMG_1910.JPG Nice fish! Strange with the picture, the picture int he post is upside down, but the full picture when you click on it is right-side up. Going to try to upload it off of my machine to see if it does the same thing, just for fun. IMG_1910.JPG IMG_1910.JPG IMG_1910.JPG Holy ...

Re: Do I need to exchange my battery?

Will something like this work? https://www.batteriesplus.com/battery/marine-and-boat/deep-cycle/bci-group-24m/sli24mdc Listed as 75 AH, no RC listed unfortunately, from what I can see. One concern is that under the "Specifications" tab it states "Product Sub Category: Starting Lighting And Ignition....

Re: Do I need to exchange my battery?

The motor is a rear mount 30 pound thrust minn kota, and is my primary source of propulsion on my single-man pontoon. I do not have money to burn, I'm on disability and saving for college, my monthly budget is less then some of the batteries I've seen for sale on the market, lol. No point in buying ...

Re: Help with locating glue on 'D'-rings?

That's actually a great idea for protecting weak points. Makes me wonder if it would work with silicone, since it is waterproof and very flexible. In theory you could probably do the same with PVC to form a tougher protective layer on the bottom of your pontoon to protect from abrasions during launc...

Do I need to exchange my battery?

So I went to Wal-mart a few weeks ago to pick up a battery for my 30 pound thrust minn kota trolling motor. This was my first trolling motor, and I had no idea about any battery stuff, so I just went to the person at the auto section by where the batteries are sold, and told him I needed a battery f...

Re: Help with locating glue on 'D'-rings?

Be careful with methyl ethyl ketone as a cleaner, it is a very strong solvent, and if it gets anywhere near ABS plastics, it will melt it. When I worked for a production shop, we used MEK and ABS plastic in a paint mixer to make our own glue. I suppose as long as you don't let it pool you won't have...

Re: Small Boat Lingcod

Has anyone ever tried near the Mukilteo pier for lings? My dad caught a tiny one off of the pier one day when we fished until just after dusk. It was only 8 inches long or so, but may be an indicator that there are some bigger ones nearby. I know that area can be used with smaller boats because ther...

Awesome potluck in Chelan!

Just wanted to give a HUGE thank you to Mike, Rob, and Aaron for an amazing event yesterday! I had a blast hanging out with NWFR members, eating some great food, and listening to some awesome live music. I even convinced my mother to try the casting competition! (We both scored 0, along with about 8...

Re: Help with locating glue on 'D'-rings?

I've never used a mac before. My uncle on my mother's side is a graphics designer in the Atlanta area and he uses a mac, I can send him an e-mail to ask, but I bet someone on the forums uses apple products, would be much faster getting info from them, his business is run through his e-mail so he is ...

Re: Help with locating glue on 'D'-rings?

Just needed to make them a bit smaller, it's a pixel-size issue, not a size or file type issue. Not sure what the minimum requirements are though, I just guessed at a percentage of the original, and it worked O:)

Yeager's is awesome, I remember frequenting that store while attending Bellingham Technical College, I drove within a couple miles of it every day between school and work, and have spent many dollars I never intended to on fishing gear from their store, great prices ...

Re: Spring is here, Summer is coming

Was this during the winter? When I started BTC's broodstock program the males would get significantly recessed gumlines close to spawning time, even if they couldn't spawn yet. If they've been in there for 6 years they probably definitely were able to spawn though, unless they were triploids. Ponds ...

Re: Spring is here, Summer is coming

I grew up in the Lake Stevens area but the only time I fished it was from the public dock, just caught a handful of yellow perch. I never was a fan of big lakes, I enjoy the smaller lakes. Usually less people, no skiers/jetskiers, more concentrated fish. They may be smaller in size but usually much ...
