Re: Brining back the float connection
I was curious what the connection between 'brining' and 'float' would be! It's the 'G'!

Re: What is Collapsible Fishing Rod?
There are some Tube vid reviews of the really cheap Chinese ones. I picked up a couple to try as well. I got them for panfish but doubt they would hold up to bigger fish. The sections slide into each other so there is a slight taper they all lock together with. Mine arrived with some of the eyes bro...

Re: Looking for carp in King County
On Lake Wa, up by the U, but they may not like you fishing from there. On the South West side of the 520 bridge there is a lot of swampy area that is good. On the South East side under the I-90 bridge there are a lot. Any place where there are a bunch of Lily Pads you will find them, in pretty much ...

Re: Tackle Store
Englund Marine in Westport is probably the best option if you are going there as they know the area, what works and have a good supply of 'stuff'.

Re: Looking for a specific sort of rod...
I picked up a bunch (25) rods from a ‘close out’ that are in the 6’ range and med to med/hev range. Berkley and others. $10 each if you want to take a look. I ran into the same issue today trying out a Chinese reel off Amazon. I DID find a rod (Berkley) that the reel seat worked with. Have sold a nu...

Re: Looking for a specific sort of rod...
Sounds like you may have to build one or modify an existing one with a different seat to get as specific as you need. Are the reel feet thicker? Wider?

Re: Paintball guns for furbags?
Where did and what did you end up getting? New? Used? Would you do it different next time? We want answers man! Glad it seems to work. Gives you something to do waiting for the fish to bite! Though I always enjoy using a sling shot (check out the UK sling shot competitions on YouTube!) it would not ...

Re: Is it legal to use a crab snare on one pole and fish with another pole at the same time.
"No" is the answer to your question. Two different things. One is shellfish, one is fish. Different rules apply to each. Keep in mind 'shore fishing' has different rules and sizes also. Don't forget to check the emergency rules... Got to love Washington regs!

Garage sale fishing stuff in S. Cle Elum
Hit a garage sale in South Cle Elum. Five fishing boats, piles (I mean actual piles) of old spinning and casting reels, a whole lot of old fishing poles and a bunch of old lures, tackle boxes, two downriggers, one Cannon electric ($70) and one manual plus attractors and old outboards. Don't know if ...

Re: Downrigger Weight Snubber Vs bumper
I already have a few of the ones that attach firmly to the cable. I clip them about 2-3' above the weight and twist the line (braid) ten times and hook it into the release if I am using my 9' 'light' pole. With heavier poles I put a rubber band between the line and the release. I seem to get better ...

Re: 12V portable bilge recommendations..?
My bilge pump failed last month. The livewell and bilge were the same brand and of a ‘cartridge’ style so I was able to leave the base in place and just change the motor/pump. Though they are obsolete I was still able to find a new one on Amazon. They un-snap and pull out. Might double check yours t...

Re: Downrigger Weight Snubber Vs bumper
I, too, use Chamberlain releases but am salt water only. [thumbup] No issues with them? The only thing I heard was the first ones produced would bulge (parts corroding) then break. They may have changed how they build them. I will probably be doing some blue water salt fishing in the future so it w...

Re: Downrigger Weight Snubber Vs bumper
I have probably four different types of downrigger releases but have settled on either a rubber band or Chamberlain off of the downrigger. I have read the Chamberlain and salt water do not mix though.

Re: Lost Tennessean
Figure the height of the vessel as well as that may mess things up some. You did not say what the freeboard (water to deck/gunnel) is or how close you can get to the water. Most of the fish you will catch will not be pulled up out of the water using the line so you will need to net them.
