Re: Lake Roosevelt Access & The Government Shutdown

It depends. The last time we went through a shut down NPS barricaded the launches and parking areas. I know boat anglers were told not to fish on the NPS side of the lake, but there is no tribal side of Lake Roosevelt as it's all below the 1310' line and federal water. The only launch available then...

Re: Rats taking residence within vehicle engine compartment??

Yep, but not rats, chipmunks and marmots (think woodchuck) here. You think rats leave turds, you should see marmot excrement! Problem we have is living in a rural area with a carport not a garage. They seek heat from the engine which is usually protected by under hood insulation. Ideal "warming shel...

Report comments

Is there any way we can return to report comments not being one long run on paragraph? This was changed years ago but went away after the last upgrade. Would be nice to have option for separate paragraphs in comments same as report body if it can be done. Please. :)

Re: Winter glove recommendations??

Got a pair of these several years ago and amazingly enough they work fairly well. Took them to AK last year too and use them on Roosevelt when cold and windy. Not the best for handling wet fish but a quick wipe with a towel and back to work. Mine have a velcro strap at the wrist unlike the zipper of...

Re: Chamber vacuum sealer under $600?

Thought I'd do a follow-up on this after 4yrs of use. It has performed exactly as it did when new and still zero complaints. ARY made some improvements after I bought mine (all digital display including vacuum "indicator") but other than that the machine appears basically the same as the original VP...

Re: Report editing

Thanks Aaron. Really weird, that's the report I tried to edit, but was blank when I went back to details, so created another report, much abbreviated, and submitted it. The latter is the one I got a report submitted notice for. All is good and look forward to the new report form. [thumbup]

Report editing

Knew this was somewhat of a bug a while back, but seems it still is. I had a report, including picture, in preview and noted a couple spelling errors I wanted to correct but when I clicked on "Details" to take me back to the narrative it disappeared, as did the picture. Can we not go back to edit a ...

Folks this is a fishing machine, I've witnessed it personally and have fished from it with Alan chasing Loon Lake kokanee. You won't be disappointed!

So, Alan, when are you going to post about your new boat? hint, hint. [cool]

Re: Wall mounted rod holder options, or DIY?

Screw in style hooks like these. Can find vinyl coated ones at most any hardware store. Couple with a closed loop "hook" for the rod butt and you've got instant, custom made rod holders. Works good unless, as in my case, the ceiling is 14' high. [wink]

Re: Thoughts on a Travel Rod/Gear for Fall River Fishing?

WA fishing regulations are very complex and difficult even for those of us who live and fish here. In addition to things already mentioned, there are many species restrictions as well. Below is direct link to WA Dept of Fish and Wildlife page where you can download the current fishing regulation pam...

Re: Lead core line recommendations?

We fish 8 1/2' - 9' rods so the 47-series Daiwas fit well. Leadcore is simple and eliminates need for downriggers, in fact, I remove the downriggers late September and we fish all winter long without them. Might not work where you plan to fish but this is a tried and true tactic on Roosevelt and I e...
