Re: Big fish program and certificates

Sounds like a fun idea. Nothing too official just a fun yearly photo entry deal. Wouldn't call it a contest, there might be some kind of red tape issue with the state or something.

Re: Lake Coeur D'Alene Spring Chinook!

Larry, You are correct. I was in that shop one day when a lady from the newspaper called three times before the guy answered the phone. He blasted off a fishing report to her that sounded like he was reading it from a prewritten form letter. When he got off the phone, I laughed with him and I said, ...

Re: 2018 Pike Tally

OK, I'll get this one started. I managed to catch 2 pike on day one of the Lester Smith memorial pike tournament. It was a tough tourney for everyone entered. The top weight for day one was 28 pounds, and big fish of that day was 12.5 lbs. I weighed in a 31" fish that was 6lb 10ozs. caught in one of...

Thanks Larry. I'll need it if I'm going to be competitive this year instead of just donating to the winners pot again. [biggrin]

Re: Invasive species sticker for Idaho?

No. It does not. Everyone with a boat needs to stop and be inspected, if they pass an inspection point. The inspection normally takes less than 2 minutes. They ask where you're heading, where your boat has been in the water last, walk around your boat, and it's done. However, depending on where you'...

Re: Invasive species sticker for Idaho?

Larry, I bought an Idaho invasive species sticker online once and they did mail it to me. I also remember printing out the receipt and putting it in the glove box of my boat. They told me that would suffice until the sticker got to me. If you made an online payment to them and print out your receipt...

Re: 2018 Pike Tally

I'll be on the shelf for the next three weekends. Weather sucks this weekend, and the wife and I are heading off on vacation that will keep me out of the fishing action for the next two weekends after that. The Packernut and I plan to begin our pursuit of Pike the last weekend of the month in the Le...

Wow. It sure doesn't sound like a 2 1/2 year project to me, but I guess the lake will have a nice population of fish by the time it becomes usable.

Re: Porcupine Bay, Spokane Arm?

Not sure when you're planning to go out to Ft. Spokane but check this link out before you go if you're planning to go soon. The water levels are dropping out there, and as of today, if it drops another two feet, the launch at Ft. Spokane will be out of commission. http://www.lrf.org/recreation/boat-...
