Re: Mandate Barbless Hooks For Lake Sammamish
Sharphooks, I enjoyed the discussion and I honestly have taken your concerns to heart. Civil discussions like these plant seeds that bring about change. These native cutts and the last of the native kokanee strains are very important to me too.

Re: Mandate Barbless Hooks For Lake Sammamish
Ive got a little different point of view on the subject.... I am doubtful that changing the fishing regulations will have much effect on the fishery at all. This is not to say that any fishery can survive a no limits free for all, as we all know what's happened in american fisheries' history. I have...

My Love of two strokes stems from the dirt bike engines of my youth. All my outboards are old mix your own fuel two strokes. Put..put...put...pop!......put...put............put..............put. And the smell!...I guess those are all cons for the rest of you!

Re: Annual Sturgeon Kayak fishing event, Willamette River, this weekend.
Both "sturgeon kayak fishing" and "charcoal kayak grilling" sound hilarious to see! The sport of sturgeon fishing from a kayak sounds kinda like it combines water skiing and fishing skills!

Grey area.... Has been discussed here before. Ive contacted people about this and received conflicting information. I decided not to do it. I was specifically enquiring about creating crappie structure in a king county lake when I did my research a few years ago.

Re: Lake Roosevelt Access & The Government Shutdown
As I understood it (from a brief news clip) this shutdown was more of a partial shutdown than before.... Parks are supposed to remain open, but with limited services.

Genetic analysis should be an exact science, yah? Sure looks like they did an awful lot of sampling to back up their claimed origins. They sure are quick to point the finger at bucket biologists though.... (as usual).

Re: Looking for carp in King County
On Lake Wa, up by the U, but they may not like you fishing from there. On the South West side of the 520 bridge there is a lot of swampy area that is good. On the South East side under the I-90 bridge there are a lot. Any place where there are a bunch of Lily Pads you will find them, in pretty much...

Re: Wall mounted rod holder options, or DIY?
I made these holders many years ago for my little aluminum boat. Modified an existing design & made from 1/4 inch rubber for horse stalls. One of these days, I'll come up with something that I can transport rods with, store rods with and mount in the boat when fishing.....

Re: ISO: Starboard
Anybody know what the difference between hdpe (cutting board plastic) and starboard is? Using the link above, I noticed "king" branded hdpe, ldpe and starboard plastics listed separately...Must be different somehow? maybe just a coast guard approval?

Re: ISO: Starboard
Polypropylene plastic is similar looking to hdpe (polyethylene) cutting boards, but not quite as durable in some ways. It weighs much less though, and is glued much more reliably. Its also really easy to heat and bend to shape with a heat gun or torch. Nice work! Way to get on it!

Re: ISO: Starboard
Hdpe is great for certain things, but it has its quirks. Glue doesn't stick to it easily, until you pass a propane torch quickly across the surface to be glued. That flamed surface will accept glue for about 30 minutes before having to re-torch. Most epoxy adhesives will work with hdpe in this manor.

Re: 2018 Not Quite Trophy But Still Nice Bass Pictures Gallery
Caught this guy while crappie fishing at night. 1/32 oz crappie jig, 6 lb suffix nano braid line on a an ultralight rod rated for 2-6lb test. It was just over 22 inches long, didn't get an accurate weight though. Maybe 6 pounds? Regardless, its definitely twice the size of my previous personal best!...

Re: Eagle Claw Featherlight Kokanee/Casting rods are here!
Those spinmatics are kinda fragile, (broken tips) but are great kokanee catchers. My first kokanee specific rod was a spinmatic, and my catch ratio skyrocketed. After giving up on baitcasting (again), I retired a black max to trolling..... works great! Faster retrieve speed and better drag than the ...
