RE:what do steelhead eat?
Good luck out there gian. I have never fished this side of the state for steelies, but grew up fishing the Columbia over by the Tri-Cities. For bait we always used shrimp with added anise scent below a couple of colorful corkies with a small weight. All that went below a stick bobber at about 5-8 fe...

Have you looked at the Fox Island pier? A bit of a trek, but it's a nice little place. Never crabbed there, so not sure what it's like in that regard. Incoming tide is usually considered best time, but have had luck on both incoming and outgoing tides. Good luck.

RE:I need Battery Help
HillbillyGeek is right. The best way to get the most out of your batteries it to try not to let them fall below 50% charge (damn near impossible when you want to be out all day trolling and using a fishfinder #-o ), don't let them sit uncharged for long, keep the water level full, and use a "smart" ...

RE:Appropriate Language and Posts for this Forum and Website, USE POLICY - please review
My thanks to the moderator and/or fellow WL member who were responsible for removing the less-than-positive and miss-directed reply to my recent Beaver Lake report. It was not up there long, but I did see it before it was removed. I can honestly say that I understood some of what the poster was rant...

RE:Beaver Lake
Thanks for the posts guys. I learned about the plant a week ago from my neighbor and thought it might be fun to go cast a line as it has been quite a while since I've been fishing....well, after reading your posts and seeing the recent report, I'm glad I haven't had a chance to go. Doesn't sound lik...

RE:Where to fish near Pullman, WA?
Have you thought about driving down to the Snake? Bass, crappie, sturgeon, steelhead, trout, etc.
You can also take a drive north towards Cheney and there are a lot of seep lakes up there that hold some nice trout. Unfortunately it does take some driving any way you cut it. Good luck.

RE:Sturgeon help? (hanford reach)
Beerman, I have a cousin in the Tri-Cities who fishes for sturgeon from shore and has had success. Not sure of the set up he uses, but he and buddy were able to land a 9 footer over the summer, although he said it took both of them to do it. Of course they couldn't keep it. My Dad and Uncles also us...

Anyone Still Fishing Sammamish for Salmon?
I've been taking a peek at the lake from I-90 when I drive by, but don't see many boats out on the water that seem to be fishing when I go by. I have been thinking of going and trying a line, but don't want to waste my time if the fish have stopped biting. Any recent news/reports?

RE:The illusive Geoduck...........
I had the mud-stink problem in Penn Cove. My fingers turned black and stunk for a couple days. There, it smelled more like sulfur. I think it's pretty common around Puget Sound. Some of the stink is probably/most likely due to pollution, but I'm sure some of it is just natural due to the decaying de...

RE:Fishtrap Lake questions
I've fished that lake a couple of times by boat. Paid to stay at the resort and launch. I suggest trolling an F4 red flatfish about 60 to 70 feet behind the boat at a pretty slow rate. That is what did it for us. Got a lot of Triploids that way. The resort also rents boats if you don't have one. I d...

RE:Looking for a decent lake in the 509 area code that has boat rentals
The resort on Fishtrap Lake, south of Cheney, used to rent boats....think they were 14 foot aluminums though. There are some nice triploid rainbows in that lake if you have a trolling motor. When I was a kid my dad rented a 14 or 16 foot aluminum from Mar Don. We brought our own outboard, but we had...
