Re: Ending the garden season. On to next year!

Tomatoes and peppers, still picking them as we use them. Most of the herbs havd been cut and dried. We didnt even touch the main garden this year. We did set up a small greenhouse on the back deck. We had fresh salad nightly, that rocked!

Where to hunt??

I just found out today that all Weyerhaeuser forests are closed, even to foot traffic, due to the fire danger. That blew my plans for Sunday. I'm looking at DNR and National Forest right now but have not been out there yet. Im looking to hunt in or close to GMU460, Snoqualmie. I have an issue with m...

Re: chickens

We had talked about it but we decided to build an green house out of the barn space we would have used for a chicken pen.

We were recently adopted by a hen and we suspect there are chicks near by, we feed her but she wont let us come near her.

Re: Non-combustible only lakes

Try Cranberry Lake at Deception Pass St Park. There are also a couple other lakes near by there to look at if you go. Pass Lake and Lake Campbell. https://maps.google.com/?ll=48.414619,-122.618408&spn=0.076566,0.11364&t=m&z=13" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The park has plenty of ope...

Re: Range ammo. 30-06

Range ammo....... Well it's just that, something to dirty the gun with and make noise at the range. Hunting practice or comp practice, either way, I'd not shoot anything I didn't load, if you're not a (re)loader, buy what you will be shooting for real. When it comes down to practicing for moa and o...

Re: What do you bring to drink and or snack on

It all depends..... on who I'm fishing with. Normally a selection of beverages, from waters to sodas and a selection of beers and wine. Sometimes the cooker comes and we will heat the meal du jour, tamales, tacos, stew, pulled pork or maybe chili more often than not we will have deli sandwiches and...

Re: Range ammo. 30-06

I'd err on the side of caution and not fire steel bullets through my hunting rifle. I'd go with the bulk Remington ammo they sell or check out Sportco/Outdoor emporium and see if they have any good bulk ammo deals. Thats the current plan. New brass with copper jacket. I picked up some Winchester fo...

Re: What hunting rifle???

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I went with the .300 Win Mag. I pick it up in the morning. Im not sure when I will be able to look at another rifle purchase, but a semi auto is on the list. AR10 maybe, but that may be a while. Looking to get a muzzle loader and a new pistol before another rifle c...

I have that smoker, the Masterbuilt Digital Electric. Works well.
