Re: Car tab renewal sticker shock
I don't know one person who voted in favor of this, yet it passed. Now to renew my new truck tabs I'm going to have to take out another loan. What a bunch of BS. Who came up with this stupid idea?

Re: Which Handheld GPS Unit?
I bought a Garmin Oregon a few years ago. There are some things to learn in regards to maximizing battery life and making your own custom maps, but once I figured those out I've been really happy with it. I use it for fishing, hunting, hiking, geocaching, and general recreation. When I got it, I bou...

Re: Green River Muddy
I thought I'd go get my Chum fix this morning as the water levels looked optimum, so headed to the 277th stretch. Despite the low water levels, there was ZERO visibility. The water looked like coffee with cream. There must have been a slide upriver somewhere as there is no way it should have been th...

Great feedback from the LEO. Happy to hear that. Sad about the dregs of society though. Guess if you're hard up for entertainment.....

Why can't we ever catch these guys and do some attitude adjustments?? We need to set up some bait cars. That was my first thought too, but I dont think it will do any good... (addicts with no sense of reality) They really need to be incarcerated if they have any chance of cleaning up. What bugs me,...

Re: Boating courtesy to land lubbers
I'm a bank angler and understand the frustration. Some boaters are just jerks, but also keep in mind that the boat that's up on plane is usually displacing less wake than one riding slow and low in the water, so they might actually be thinking of the bank angler in that regard. Additionally, on many...

Re: Hunter Orange
What's your guys thoughts? I've never gone on a hunt before but I plan on doing so in the future. I realize it's the law, but I feel like I see lots of pics of ppl and their bucks without them wearing any orange. I doubt they would take it off just for the picture so how is this possible? People ar...

Re: Hunter Orange
Unless you're bow hunting, wear as much orange as you can. Pays to be visible. I wear an orange baseball cap or stocking cap and an orange fleece jacket with tree branch pattern and have had elk walk right up to me. They don't seem to know I'm there until they smell me. And then they seem confused a...

No problem. Following one of the rivers that is not regulated by a dam is a good learning tool. If you go check out the Snoqualmie here: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/wa/nwis/uv/?site_no=12144500&PARAmeter_cd=00060,00065" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you'll see a more typical trend of r...

Re: GREEN RISING
Most of our rivers have USGS monitoring stations on them somewhere that track river flow data. You can find those stations and their reported data here: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/wa/nwis/current?type=flow" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Some rivers have one or two and others, like the...

Re: Leaders with egg loop
Definitely better to tie your own. You decide what type/size of hook, leader, and length. I usually use size 1 hooks with 10-12lb leader for the majority of Steelhead/salmon drift fishing, but also use some smaller hooks and shorter leaders for bead fishing during the winter. It gets easier the more...

Re: Shimano Symetre FJ 3000 spool - free
Do you know if it'll fit a Stadic 2500 FJ? I have one, wouldn't mind an extra spool. I'll be on Lake Sammamish in the morning. Don't know what time, but probably around 6:30 to 7am. I have no real idea when I'll be done fishing. Maybe meet at the boat launch. PM me your phone number and we'll talk,...

Have a spare spool from a reel that took a dump. If you have a use for it it's yours. Fits FJ only. Think fits 2500 and 3000 series.

Re: Is it ok to just drive the speed limit in the left lane?
Only if your passing someone who is going under the speed limit! Freak'n left lane cloggers drive me batty. As long as you're legitimately passing someone, I don't care how fast you're driving, but once the left lane is open or you're no longer overtaking other vehicles clear the left lane!!!! ....u...

Re: Lake Wa Coho!!
Color won't matter. Siwash for the position of the eye in relation to the hook. Octopus will only work if you tie them on using a snell knot or similar shank knot otherwise they don't have the right leverage for a proper hookset. My brother-in-law tried that one Pink season. Didn't work. I salvaged ...

Re: Lake Wa Coho!!
I replace the treble with a quality 1/0 siwash crimped to a barrel swivel. I use the rubber bumper or a soft bead to protect the knot. Have never had a problem hooking up. Make sure your hooks are sharp!
If you don't have Siwash, stick with the treble (only legal in Lake WA).
