Re: Lakefront Recreatin Property

If one was to want to build a dock, now would be the time to do it. EPA is in turmoil and they would have to sign off on any shoreline building anywhere.

Re: Northern Pike fishing in some western Wa lakes

If you want Pikes, head on over to the Pend Oriel. ???? Don't waste your time fishing the Pend Oreille river for pike, at least in the Box Canyon area. They freaking killed them all. Remember??? I don't think they did a very good job. When they spawn, they lay like 10k eggs each. And I'm pretty sur...

Re: Northern Pike fishing in some western Wa lakes

I guess we have different interpretations of "survive". I was not talking about dumping your aquarium in lake Washington and some fish will live for awhile type of survival. By survive I meant establish a population. Like there are two species of bass, perch, catfish, crappie and many different sun...

Re: Drive-up lake with a view of Mt. Rainier

Well, we had the family fishing trip this weekend. Trina and her mom were overwhelmed by emotion at the place I chose and how perfect it was to lay Aunt Barbara to rest there, so it couldn't have been more special. As for the fishing...well, I spent most of the day tying knots, as they were getting...

As much as I wouldn't like it, Tom is spot on, they did it in CA in the 80's when the Sac went south. They have Kings running naturally again.

Big difference between Pike and Tigers. Tigers can be controlled, they're sterile, Pikes are not.

Re: Galvanic Corrosion

Actually a boat that's not stored in the water can corrode faster than one stored in the water. The corrosion starts in the water and goes to town when it gets out in the air.

I lived in a house with a bunch of guys in my college years. When I was done and working it seemed really hard to keep any food in the fridge. I never had to worry about anyone eating it. I also learned to love buttermilk and a few other delicacies. [biggrin]

Re: Northern Pike fishing in some western Wa lakes

who said anything about eating them? Yuck..... The fierce fight over Salmon is well founded, many of us used to make a very good living fishing for them, not so much anymore thanks to many sorted issues. The issue is not one is better than the other, it's one belongs here and the other doesn't. It's...

Re: Northern Pike fishing in some western Wa lakes

There are places to fish for Pike now, well on the east side anyway. It is true they have the ability to really harm salmon runs when they live in the lakes where the salmon spawn. Especially reds and to a lesser extent pinks and chums. Alaska has been going after them pretty fiercely after they got...

Re: Galvanic Corrosion

Looking at where it started ....... galvanic or poor grounds or what ever, I'm going to suggest that the finish on the parts has lost it's integrity for some reason, little nick or scratch when it was being assembled or not prepped properly at the factory. I'd surely get all the parts separated and ...

Browns are very picky. If it's doing anything that doesn't look natural, they won't touch it. As for hooks, a 4 or 6 should be fine. You can go as light as you want on the leader, I go with about 2-3 feet on nothing more than size 7 barrel swivel and then the main line. Leave some.... a bunch of sla...

Oh, that is just brutal...... Sorry, hope it turns up. [sad]

Last time I did that, it started on the top of my car and the guy behind me swerved for it..... one word, flat tackle box.

I'm going to have to go a +1 too on the Glasply. Many of them are kind of like the old Uniflites. Monday boats were pretty heavy, a lot of extra resin and cloth but they did get lighter as the week went on.... Regardless of when they came off the line, you should have a strong hull to work with. Mak...

Re: Drive-up lake with a view of Mt. Rainier

Anchor in the middle, the deep part and drop a worm with no weight all the way to the bottom and just let it sit. Its the only way I know to get a big brown with out all the trolling gear. In a lake they're notoriously picky and will only move to the surface or shore lines just before dawn and just ...

Re: Trailer ??

No cracked block or manifold if you ran it on the hose with no trouble. one of IO seals has gone and let water in to the point it started going in the dip stick and in through the exhaust. Get it drained and dried, change the plugs and I'm sure you'll be fine. I've seen it happen on quite a few boat...

Re: Trailer ??

A floor in that boat is a few sheets of marine or exterior ply. Some good copper treatment a couple coats of varathane and maybe a little diy bedliner and you're good to go.
