I thought I read that, back when they poisoned Sprague, the majority of dead fish found were carp. I thought that WDFW had therefore determined that the imbalance was caused by an overabundance of carp...not traditional warm water species. Does anyone else recall that?

I've drop shotted them a lot for walleye, lakers, and bass. Thread them on to a 3/0 straight worm hook, or nose hook them with a number 1 drop shot hook. Regardless, it allows you to leave the fluke in one spot for a lot longer than other methods

A carefully tied Palomar knot does the trick for me on the drop shot hook, even with a jig on the bottom.

From my experience, I would agree with the posts listed here, except for the line choice. Your rod and line don't match very well.....with that light of line, you have too "strong" of a rod.
