That is nasty! I wouldn't let my dogs eat farmed trout....although farmed trout taste much like dog food.Mike Carey wrote:
Only one other category to have tried, would have been grocery store farmed trout. But that would have required a heroic sacrifice on your part.

Re: 10 fish limit??
So in the infinite wisdom of the WDFW they plant in excess of 300K fish on the westside and increase the creel limits to 10 fish without even a single fish on the east side anybody having trouble with this but ME? I saw a few years ago where they released a ton of fish in lake sacajewea during a sp...

Same one I took.....$10 only. I also recall it freezing up and having to take part of the test twice.

Ok, so I go to the coarse to take it and oh ya, that has a $29.50 coarse fee. fishnislife I wish I had the link for you...but if you find the right site the only fee is $10....that $29.50 fee is going to someone who has set up that site that links you to the actual site. The state charges $10 only.

Another nice item to use are "bait buttons". If you tip your jigs with prawn piece, try using bait buttons to hold the piece up the shank of the hook. Gives a cleaner looking jig and the prawn piece lasts longer.

Re: Buzz Bomb Modifications?
Shouldn't need a swivel with a buzz bomb. What I do is add 6-8 feet of mono to my braid with a blood knot and put buzz bomb at other end. Make sure you use a rubber bumper or bead.

Re: Stocking Up For Steel
Love cleardrift floats! However I like to use the smallest float possible so that when the fish grabs hold and the float goes under, the resistance is minimal. This gives you just a tad more time to set the hook, and the fish will hang onto jig or bait longer. 1/8 oz jig 20 gram cleardrift float and...

Ok. Picked up a ceramic bobbin for 10$ and have to say. All the differnece in the world! Way better. No thread breaks and yet it has more tension on it!! Sure wish I wouldn't have waited so long to try one....it really is amazing the difference it makes. Funny thing is the first one I bought was th...

Re: Buzz Bomb Modifications?
You can always run a wire thru it (spinner wire),twist an eye on each end, add a bead at each end to help it spin. However I think it will fish better the way it is meant to be fished(line thru bb).

Re: Tying Jigs?
210 denier is what I use and it works pretty good, but will snap if pulled too hard. Using a ceramic bobbin makes a huge difference. Took a few years before I broke down and got ceramic.....wished I would have switched over sooner. You can put much more pressure on the thread before it breaks, with ...

3rd one looks like that? Great job! Looks great! Wait till you catch a fish with a jig you tied......very satisfying! What is real cool is finding a pattern that the fish love and works when nothing else is working.

Re: Tying Jigs?
It is a major savings. I pour, paint, tie. The most expensive part of the jig is the hook. Paint, lead, materials, all cheap compared to the hook. Mustad 32833 is all I use and is very cost effective for strong, sharp hooks. Might start with purchasing painted jig heads. Then you can put your effor...
