When I was out Sunday It didn't matter what we used. One rod was rigged with an 11" green and white flasher with a 4" pink squid, and the other rod had the standard 8" humpy special white flasher and 2" pink squid. I like to inject the squid with power bait and rub a little krill paiste on my flashe...

The most effective technique for me in the past has been to cast a 1/4 oz humpy special spoon out past the scool, if possible. Then let it fall on a fairly tight line down through the scool. Just give a very slight jerk every couple seconds. Sometimes you'll get a fish or at least a strike on every ...

I'm fishing this derby tomorrow, got a last minute invite. My question is, what is the primary bait fish inthe area? Herring or candlefish? We'll be launching at Redondo and fishing around there and point robinson. I've never fished the area, so any advice would be welcome. Thank you:-"
