Re: 18 Starcraft Holliday
A few questions: Aluminum riveted boat? What is model year of your Boat? Weight of Boat, motor, and trailer? Top speed of boat (sog)? Was entire transom completely rebuilt or just beefed up from inside? When floor was replaced was foam flotation under floor also replaced? Does your boat have an elec...

Not sure what happened, but back then one rod, one reel is all a guy or gal needed. Well, that and a fly rod.

Re: catch cooler 1 and 2
Was ice packs used in place of ice because the zipper would leak water?sickbayer wrote:I used freezer packs no ice. I'm going to upgrade to zone kill later but I don't need them as I've a fish box. So they just sit in the garage.

Re: catch cooler 1 and 2
I'll Bite what is a catch cooler? It is a soft sided zipper bag that ice and fish are placed. They take up less space than a cooler, are carried like a suitcase. Or, carried like a briefcase if you prefer that visualization. Might even come with a shoulder strap. They are like a dedicated cooler fo...

Re: Questions on Kayak fishing
Renting each potential model would be a must before purchase, I would think to avoid several buying mistakes. Personally, I was shocked at how wet the occupant gets when paddling with a kayak paddle! Then, what to do with the paddle to free the hands for fishing duties. The weirdest part is reeling ...

Damn, nice catch Ian. Crappie must have been a decent size to get that fly in it's paper thin mouth.

Re: Here's a crawfish pattern
I noticed where the barbell eyes were located (under the hook shank as it is pictured), So, the fly would be fairly weedless, hook point up. But could not make out a hook point.
What fish species have you caught with either newly tied fly pattern?

Re: Sea-Run Squimp!
Ian, what is the reason for removing the dumbbell eyes? If it is weight, a short 30 or 40lb mono can be heated at the tips with a bic lighter. Balls will form that cam be colored with a permanent black ink marker. Adds literally no weight but has great effect for a shrimp or squimp pattern. I do lik...

Re: Flyrod for Pile Perch
Might try a flavored rubber worm tied to a hook. Or, place bait on a hook. Would not be practical to cast many baits mentioned with a fly rod. Unless a small crab would stay on. I have heard of clams for bait, that might stay on when casting with the fly rod. That is all I've got.......good luck! Ed...

Although it is similar to a Carey in appearance only, lacking in Pheasant tail and use of Pheasant rump for hackle(?) A Carey is a classic, and therefore should not be misconstrued with what is pictured. Partridge Carey - To define the lack of Pheasant in the pattern. Although 1st and 6th options mi...

[quote="JoshH"]I unfortunately don't see WDFW ever having the resources to try and do anything about it. The big problem though is that the freshly stocked fish are as dumb as rocks. All of their food at the hatchery comes from the surface, so they hang out there for some time waiting to be fed.... ...

Wigglefin, after reviewing the suplied link http://wigglefin.com/FAQ.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. There was mention of 3 different sized Action Discs, the lb test best used for those discs, but no gear/lure size recommendations for those difference size discs.

Re: WiggleFin Tackle - Introduction
MotoBoat, The new "delta" shape of the ActionDisc is the result of a complete re-design to specifically address the problem you are talking about. There is a detailed explanation on my website under http://wigglefin.com/FAQ.html Even with the "Delta" shape, is 3mph and up to fast a troll speed when...

Re: WiggleFin Tackle - Introduction
Wow, Thanks for the kind words. It's great to read comments from people who have actually used the discs. I tried a Wigglefin in front of a 4" squid,at 3 to 3.5mph, and the wigglefin locked to one side. What is the fix for this? I had a bead or two between the squid and the wigglefin. Also, the fir...

Actually I take the blame for not thinking about the issue. The kid ran the post and I responded. I knew he was a kid, I just wasn't sure how old he was. I was pretty close with my guess because I had read his other posts and seen some videos he had posted. I have children myself. I just didn't thi...

I totally get your point! But, is it your fault, the kids fault or the parents fault? The kid contacted you first, shouldn't he know to talk to Mom and Pop's first? How are you to know the age of the fingers typing a response to your add? I do not make it a practice to ask a respondents age when em...

Re: Sea Eagle 285fpb
Joe, for $899 would that include the optional pedestal with swivel seat? I have a friend with the Green 285. He rows, no electric motor. I has stood while fly casting, he said he was reluctant at first but feels the boat is very stable when standing. Same height as yourself. When comparing the overa...
