Re: Gardening Season is Here
Man, I am envious of all of you that can start gardening already. My garden is way to muddy to even walk through. I have had all my seeds for a couple of months. I love ordering seeds in the dead of winter. Always gives me something to look forward to.

Re: Homelessnes
Anyone see the article in today's Yakima Herald Republic regarding the panhandler found dead from a heroin overdose in the Taco Bell parking lot? Seems he had $1,725 cash on him as well as $83,000 worth of heroin. http://www.yakimaherald.com/news/yhr/thursday/692170-8/panhandler-found-dead-with-83k-...

Re: Walleye
Walleye are my favorite fish to eat. They are mild, firm fleshed and just plain yummy. They make awesome fish tacos, or throw them on the grill with your favorite fish seasoning. I use them in fish chowder and everyone comes back for seconds. No matter how you like to cook them, they are good eats!

Are blackberies ripe in the Packwood/Randle area?
Yumm!! I love those wild blackberries! Are they ready to pick yet? I always try to get enough to freeze for pies throughout the year, but with gas prices on the rise, I hate to make a trip over the pass if they aren't ripe yet.

Re: Bank camping allowed on Riffe?
I have seen people camp along the shore line on numerous occasions, so would think it was allowable. There are some pretty nice primitive campites along the lake shore on the south side of the lake. Camping is allowed at the boat launch at Kosmos.

Re: Sturgeon in Riffe Lake?
Several years ago, a friend of mine had gone fishing out of Westport and caught a few nice Kings. On the way home, he had his wife let him out on the highway by Rimrock Lake and he walked down the highway with a couple of those salmon. People driving by would almost run off the road looking at those...

Re: Sturgeon in Riffe Lake?
The one at Kosmos wasn't a big one either. Not sure if it would have been undersized or not, but definetly on the small side of legal.

Sturgeon in Riffe Lake?
Last weekend at the Kosmos boat launch at Riffe Lake, we saw the carcass of a sturgeon that had been cleaned at the boat launch. Are there sturgeon in the lake?

RE:Cultural Thing Or...
All though there is no excuse for poaching or taking more than your limit… maybe these people came from areas with limited resources. They had to utilize every thing they could get their hands on and get as much as they could because they had large families to feed and didn’t know if tomorrow they w...

RE:Shad
Usually fish for shad at Umatilla and I am really watching the count eager to make that first trip. I think the roe is the best part of the shad, but I can them and use them in casseroles or fish cakes just like you would use any canned fish. Our family's favorite is to saute some onions and celery ...
