Re: Boaters Tool Box - What's in yours? w/pics

The Bucket for bailing got me thinking of those collapsible dog water dishes. Portable but functional.

Re: 2015 Pond Jumperz Bass Club

We do not have any limits on boat size. We have members and non-members who fish our tourneys with 18-21' bass boats, 200-250 outboards. Other members are in smaller bass hounds and john boats. The common factor is that during the tournament we are all limited to only use our trolling motors. We thi...

Re: 2015 Pond Jumperz Bass Club

Thanks for the support and edits. The link should work now.

We have the weekends for all of the tournaments but we will finalize the specific day at our February meeting. The Roesiger tourney will be either May 23rd or 24th. We launch from the small WDFW launch at the south end of the lake.

Re: Navionics, is it worth the 150 bucks ?

I would recommend finding the smaller lakes you fish on this web map first (http://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) Check and see if your lakes are on that web map and have the depth contours you are looking for. Another options is to use the web map on a...

Re: New to bass fishing please help?

Since we have been talking about this upcoming tournament put on by the Washington State Pond Jumperz. Here are the details for Sundays Tournament. It is an open with electric motor use only. Must have a working livewell. $45 for non club members. We will be launching at the WDFW boat launch. NOT th...

Re: New to bass fishing please help?

You are correct, you can have an outboard on your boat you just can't use it. That includes idling to charge batteries. Hope you can make it up tomorrow.

Re: New to bass fishing please help?

There are a lot of good lakes out there that produce great bass fishing. But just because the lake has bass in it does not make it a good tournament lake. We put a lot of thought into the lakes we select each year. The state also has a say in what lakes we have tournaments. fishingmachine is right o...

Re: New to bass fishing please help?

We have looked into lakes that are electric motor only. Typically they are too small to allow 10-15 anglers 8 hours worth of fishing.

Re: New to bass fishing please help?

Unfortunately we can not restrict the "other" boat traffic on the lake. Our tournament anglers will not be using outboard motors but I would imagine that if the weather is good the rec users will be out in full force. Watch our website or our facebook page for tourney details if you are interested i...

Re: New to bass fishing please help?

Hey Skunkedtoomuch, If you are interested in the bass tournament on flowing lake it will be Sunday August 10th put on by the Washington State Pondjumperz. It is an electric motor only tournament. That means you can have an outboard on your boat but you can't use it during the tournament. You also mu...

Re: Quantum Code? Bait cast reel

I have the code and I probably wouldn't buy another one. As rcthepirate said it is a much lower quality reel. I find that the bearings are where you really see the difference. For me it is hard to get real long casts with this reel, even when throwing a 3/4 oz swim jig. I still have the reel and use...

Re: Cold weather Smallmouths??

Good suggestions by AMX. Besides the drop shot, I like to use a football head jig with a double tail hula grub on it or a tube on a heavy tube head. I am typically using 1/2oz - 3/4oz jig heads or weights for those three presentations. I am typically fishing deeper water for winter smallies and that...

I get my Dobyns rods at Valley Sports and More - they are a local online outdoors store based out of Burlington, WA.

WSPJ - Electric Motor Only Open Bass Tournaments

The Washington State Pond Jumperz, the states first electric motor only bass club, will be hosting five open tournaments this year. These tournaments are designed as an introduction into electric motor only bass fishing. There are no boat restrictions. Only the use of electric motors are allowed dur...
