What's the word on this river? Anyone fishing here and seeing anything? I know that springers are due and should be in the dam area. Is this the case yet?

I second the buzzbomb + hoochie method. slow retrieve, not jig and they can't lay off it.

Where is a good spot on the skook? Sounds like there is a lot of action here.

I second that. It's the one endorsement you will need if you happen to catch river fever like the rest of us. There isn't a season that the Cowlitz doesn't have fish in it. You will be glad you did once you start hooking up there.

You can say that again.

When the fish are stacked in and you are drifting any hookset can snag a fish. It's not the intent, but bump bump tug and set. If you miss fish A in the mouth chances are high that you snag fish B in the flank. It's just the way it is. The fish dont just take the bait and run like trout or bass. So ...

i was there this weekend and I saw some snagged fish...the guys I saw snagging were letting them go thought.
