Re: Thanks Inner Circle!
So how does a regular guy like me become a part of the Inner Circle? [unsure] If you read "About the Inner Circle" on the site that is pretty much it. It started out as a group of hardcore fishermen that loved the sport and sharing their success. There is no qualm in sharing spots, baits, technique...

Re: Chum dog snapped my Lamiglas!
I've been at this for a lot of years and I have broke my share of rods, but never on a fish. There has always been some other force there that contributed to the break. Now I am NOT saying it can't happen, there area always defective products but here are some things to consider.. Braid - There is a...

Re: Tying Jigs?
Might start with purchasing painted jig heads. Then you can put your efforts to tying, once you determine you like tying jigs That is what I did. I started out buying a 3-pack of painted jig heads & some pink rabbit fur (thinking whatever I tie, as long as it is pink I can use it for humpies). Then...

Re: Tying Jigs?
Just curious, who ties their own twitching jigs? I am contemplating doing it, but am wondering if it is a cost savings to tie your own vs purchasing them for about $3.90 a piece? I understand it is an art form / hobby, but if buying them is cheaper, then I will just go that route. It seems pretty s...

Re: BC Steel Spoons/How To Use
Its not ALWAYS a savage strike, most of the time, but not always. Somtimes it will just stop, just dead stop then get going again after a second or two. If this happens set it hard! I could be a fish mouthing your spoon, or a snag about to happen to either way give it a yank. Agreed, I've had as ma...

Re: Fly Tying Station & Work Bench
Great job! I found a little roll top desk at Goodwill for cheap. Cleaned it up and that is my station. Now you got me thinking of what I can do with it to make it for functional for tying. Like Mike said my challenge is not filling it to the point I can't close the thing

Re: Chromers at the hatchery
What's your point, Gringo? I was merely pointing out the fact that there are a lot of chrome fish in the hatchery and wondering if this is a good indication that the run is indeed late and that we can expect more coho in the rivers. Relax kyamukun, I hope you are right that we get a good push of la...

Re: Chromers at the hatchery
Went to the Issaquah hatchery and saw tons of chromers. Not sure if that's common to see so many chrome fish at the hatchery, but the worker there said that the run is definitely late and that they're expecting more fish to push up the rivers. She said they stopped counting at the locks Oct 1 at wh...

Re: Fish and Rain
My understanding is The low water leaves less cover & makes em spooky, it is also warmer. The warm water turns off the bite, the rain cools the water creates deeper water & more cover and can trigger a more willing fish. The fish come no matter what the water level so biting or not they are running....

Re: Gringo Pescador's Ice Bag System 101
I wonder if separating the bags from the fish by a towel or burlap bag would help the issue with the spiny rays. Or some type of plastic mess thingy to separate it? Yeah, I was thinking about that maybe some type of mesh mat like they use on the sinks in commercial kitchens.. Now I'm on the hunt [t...

Re: firecure egg
I will lay mine out on a piece of cardboard in the garage, then put the cardboard at a slight angle with something at the bottom to catch the juice. Leave em until tacky then coat with borax and either freeze them (if I am not going to use them right way) or refrigerate.

Re: Gringo Pescador's Ice Bag System 101
Way cool Gringo . Great idea and nice video. I have everything but the foiled insulation to do something like this. What is the cost of that stuff? And do you get it per foot? fishnislife I get it by the roll at Home Depot (usually in the insulation or roofing isle). You can get different widths an...

Re: Gringo Pescador's Ice Bag System 101
I spent last night making new bags so thought I would drop in and add an update. #1. These bags do not stand up to crab and/or spiny ray! Both will puncture the bags and you will lose the water as they melt (a couple had small leaks from crabbing so were slowly shrinking, but that last Potholes Wall...
