RE:getting flack from homeowners while fishing out from their docks
WhereI fish at Island Lake there is this old man who shoots at the geese with his pellet gun almost winging me and the float tube a few times. At first I just thought that he was trying to get rid of the geese. But he only does this when Im by his dock.I have seen him later on in the day feeding the ...

RE:Lake Washington Walleye, Mackinaw, or Sturgeon?
Does anyone bottom fish the lake? South of 520 at about 120' - 150', I've seen lots of sign but nothing bites. Next time I may drop a worm down and see what happens. I get curious as to what's in the lake. While salmon fishing I've had marks at 60' - 100' and after passing through it my line just ta...

RE:08 Northeast Wa whitetail forecast ?
Last year We found a large hunting group or outfitter with a hut elevated with 10 feeders. They were shooting at least 3 times a day. We didn't see any large trophy class bucks all weekend. I learned that if someone has several feeders and is hunting a lot of people than move to another area. I susp...

I've talked to the locals and because we had a late winter and the break in the weather in late February, the deer did fine. Expect to see more deer in the fall of '08.
We had 3 Moose in our yard last February.

I'm thinking about asking the WDFW if they've considered two rods for trolling.

Yes,they are....I love them too. Haha, I love whales. I remember looking a gray whale right in the eye off the coast of Vancouver Island in the summer of 2002 off Carmanah's lighthouse. The Makah tribe were hunting the animal and it looked me square in the eye after blowing water all over my face r...

RE:SAVE the wildlife
I set up no hierarchy for plants or animals. It could be a whale or an ant, I respect it. I only kill it because its destroying my house, taking over my yard, intends to eat me, or I intend to eat it. But if it's a harvest that I'm after then only if it has a sustainable population. I leave endanger...

It is fun to see other members. I saw Kzoo at Newport boat launch on Lake Washington last year. I liked his boat. Once I get a picture with a monster fish maybe I'll put my mug on hear for a short while.

RE:Cormorant Ducks
The WDFW started planting larger fish due to these birds. They can see much farther into the water than we can. They can clean out a small shallow lake. I saw many of them on Lake Stevens. Good thing the lake is deep. I also noticed the WDFW plants fry (under 3") on Stevens and that's a perfect meal...

I know we have problems with habitat conservation but that's due more to overpopulation which contributes to pollution. However, I'm nobody to tell anyone else where to live or how many children to have. I've heard stories from some of the tribal members passed down from their great grandparents. Th...

They were scheduled to plant over 70,000 rainbow fry and 16,000 cutthroat fry so I can see why the fish eating birds were all over the lake.

I should have gone to Lake Washington today but was curious over what Stevens had to offer. I saw alot of signals but nothing as big as Lake Washington or other medium sized lakes. I don't think Stevens has as much feed as Sammamish and Washington either. Does anyone know much about Stevens?

Wildlife and fish populations have been increasing I thought. Many species of fish in the Seattle died out in the early half of the last century but due to clean up, WDFW, and the tribes, many fish have been reintroduced and are either sustaining or being helped by the hatcheries. Whitetail deer hav...

The Skykomish River has some kind of white fish that looks like a sucker. I think the season was open until the end of February. They only get to be about 15" or at least that's all that I've seen in there.

RE:Lake Cle Elum - Depth of Snow
Good question. I put a deposit down on a Skykomish river springer trip last week and the question was: will the snow melt cause too high of water. There's lots of snow to melt and run to the sound. We've got a place in Baring. Last year there were lots of steelhead in the river at the end of Februa...

How deep is the snow around the lake right now? I'm wondering when it will melt off.

RE:Lake Washington Walleye, Mackinaw, or Sturgeon?
Here's an email from the WDFW: Mackinaw were stocked into the lake but we have no verification if they ever reproduced. We have heard rumors of Mackinaw being caught in Lake Washington, but none after 1980. Considering the extensive sampling conducted in the lake for the past 30+ years and no record...
