RE:Stop the use of double hook set ups for trout

Sorry I upset so many of you. I wasnt addressing the pain the fish might feel. It's the infections that kills. South Bend is the manufacture of these set ups. Im sorry 2 pound test with double treble hooks, seems stupid to me. Once they tie a knot the 2 pound test looses its strenth. I'll keep my op...

Stop the use of double hook set ups for trout

While trolling today for trout, I caught a bunch, and 2 of them had those double hook setups in them. These are fish killers. They pass the treble hook through there but, and boy does that look painful, and the other hook is still in there mouth, with the line attaching the two hooks. These need to ...

RE:Another one bites the dust.

I agree with you guys in your nice boats, not as easy in a tiny boat by your self, being blown around in the wind, plus with neck problems, and cant turn my head much. But thanks for the tips. :-k

Another one bites the dust.

Talk about frustration, I made this new flasher with smaller blades and all the bells and whistles I like for trolling for trout with just a fly. No bait or scent. I have a 2 pole endorsement this year, so I'm using it to experiment, and still catch fish on my other pole. Luckly I had one bit on it ...

Trolling with braided line with Gore

I was wondering if any one out there is using this braided line with Gore? I bought some of the Sufix 8-32 with Gore but noticed there is another braided line with several strands of Gore. I havent tried the sufix yet, I bought it for bass fishing. I was thinking if the other braided line with more ...

RE:Blackman's Lake???? Snohomish county

Cant believe no one has replied to you yet. They planted small trout in there, with some triploids. I dont think it gets fished out, maybe this year with the reduction in trout planted, it will. The lake is shallow so once it warms up, the trout are less active. I fish it in spring and fall, when th...

RE:Lake Stevens Kokanee Derby

Thanks for the info. I didnt know the size range on kokane there. I'm new to this kokane fishing and plan on going again soon. Last time I went and caught 3. Two were around 11" and one at 13" So I was wondering if the 13"er was a good size one for the lake. I caught one 2 years ago fishing for trou...

RE:Lake Stevens Kokanee Derby

For those who were nice enough to report on the derby, can you answer a couple questions.

About how many boats where out there?
Did most people have there limit?
Was it a good/adverage/poor day fishing.
Adverage size fish?

Thank you to those willing to report.:)

Trout eruption

This morning on a lake I never fished for trout, as I was heading out into the middle of the lake I kept seeing a lot of water movement, fish where jumping every where.:) But I saw some strange water movement, kind of like when a bunch of bubble come out of the water. So I headed over to check it ou...

RE:Kokane fishing

Thanks again for the info, I got out there today and put 3 kokane in the boat, and had many bites. Most of the action came on corn. I didnt try the magots that long, to tell if they would work well. I brought a person who never fished for kokane, and he was trying stuff you wouldnt think would work....

RE:Kokane fishing

Kokane fishing

I'm new to this kokane fishing, got most my info by reading different sites. My question is this time of year, does it matter what time of the day you fish for them? I was going to Lake Stevens in the next 2 warm day in a row if thats possible. I know as it warms up there more active in the morning....

Lake Ki trout plant, OUCH

This trout plant at Lake Ki, is the worst plant Ive seen in over 10 years+.#-o Most of the fish are 4 or 4.4 to a pound. Were talking fingerlings, thats what they should be called. If they are going to plant fish this small, why not plant fingerlings in the fall, so they have some time to grow, and ...

RE:Small planters this year.

Wow this thread is getting pretty long. Thanks for your input Tracy. I would have to agree with the topic of warm water lakes not getting trout plants anymore, and putting those fish in a lake where there survival is better. Example Lake McMurry gets 17,000lbs of trout planted each year. By May thos...

Small planters this year.

Every year the planted rainbow trout get smaller. I wish I new what hatcheries planted the lakes I fish. I would go there and buy a bag of food and feed them myself, to fatten them up. I was at Blackmans today, a 3.8 to a pound fish they planted is 7-8 inches. Look at the plant web site, that is the...

Fall turn over

Went trolling for trout yesterday after all the storms. Talk about fall turn over, most of the weeds are floating on top of the water now. I checked out 2 lakes in the Arlington area. No bites early on the first lake, all 4 bites came around 5-6. Only hooked one 17" trout. Most of the fish in the to...

Trout Action

Went out trolling for Trout this evening 4:30 til dusk up in Arlington. Got my limit 2@14" 2@15" 1@20" 4#
caught the big one when it was raining. Missed 5 bites or more, but nailed the one that counted, my best of the year, so far.:cyclopsan Water temps seem to be cooling faster this year:-"
