RE:New Basser needs suggestions on bait casting set ups

Your on the right track. You definatly want to start learning to use one. Like Natetreat said that Curado would be perfect. You can use it for a lot of different applications. You could practice out in the backyard with different weights and really get a good feel for it. Sorry Tom but it beats the ...

RE:going out to deep lake in thurston

Were you able to learn something from your bass experiece? Find some laydowns or other areas that will hold bass? That might narrow down your search next time.

RE:going out to deep lake in thurston

No sweat, those are all good bait's. As far as I'm concerned the challenge will be presentation and location. The fall of your jig could be the deal. Spring'n that worm out of the weeds might do it. Dead sticking that worm might. As well as a bunch of other presentations, but if there's nothing ther...

RE:going out to deep lake in thurston

Hey Camron, Go in with a game plan but be flexable. I would maybe aproach it with the idea of throwing your worm and maybe a pig and jig mixed in for sure or at least a big jig. I'd also have a have a spinnerbait or a chatterbait tied so you can throw that once in a while like around stumps, laydown...

RE:Banjo Minnows ?

Sorry rockjiggr, but when my novice bass buddy pulled one out and tied one on in my boat about 15 years ago (gift from mother in-law) I thought it was a joke. My experience is it caught a fish. We both laughed. In fact it's still a joke to this day. "On a side note, now I am thinking of applications...

RE:Banjo Minnows ?

Although they would catch fish, there are better swimbaits on the market. Like the Basstrix hollow bellies and you can get them at your local tackle shop, not some gimmicky TV infomercial.[/quote]
I'm with FnF on this one. What a joke. :geek:

RE:Where do I post this?

Dude, i feel your pain. I did the same thing down at Hood River last week. Put one of the trebles in the top of my index finger at the base of my fingernail past the barb because of a fiesty smally. I was on an adrenaline rush and freezing hands. grabbed my needle nose and before I could thing about...

RE:Dez In The Nationals

I can`t figure it out. Maybe someone else can.:-k From the looks of it I`d say it was a tough couple days and tough competition. At least one day was. I see a couple blanks on the board all the way down. Congrats anyway for making it this far.[thumbsup] Dez is well on his way. Looks like the top 7 ...

FnF, Gene actually fishes for Wyoming. I meet him last year at the Divisionals at Yellowtail Resevior in Montana. His son, Eric also fished the Nationals as a boater. Big time bassin family.

Food for thought. Pre fished this weekend for up coming tourney. 12 hours Saturday, no bass. 1st 3 hours Sunday, no bass. Finally figured it out and wacked em till I split. Better stick to trout Mark. Also I caught up to 5# rainbows with bass gear. :-"

RE:Interesting bass vid

Awesome strike. When I first saw the video my first thought was 'Why in the world is he using a spinning outfit' When I first started bass fishing, I basically used anything I had in regards to gear. Like most of us I've evolved my bass fishing thru the years. Fish will always be caught. But thru th...
