RE:Boat Docks For Bass
That's how I caught my first steelhead many years ago. I was catching small trout on the N.fork Skykomish with grasshoppers and a big ole steelhead was swiping at my small trout. Went back to the same spot a couple days later and second cast caught it on a big red and white spoon. 6# test on a 6' ye...

??? You'll never be able to get any distance. Use 10# and practice :albino:The HAWG HUNTER wrote:Don't use light line!! Go with some 25-65 Lb test braid. Easy to get the rats nest out and slows your spool for less over run. And keeps the pigones from snaping your line!

RE:Potentially Sad Day for Me about Steel Lake
It's tough when the average fisherman catch the fish of a lifetime. I've seen it from both sides. From a 10 year old kid (mine) to adults. I try not to get to bent. I do know one thing my brother, there are more out there. Good luck

Good point. Aint it the truth. Tom, That happened with about a 3# trout at Jamison years ago. We were lazily trout fishing on the bottom with anchor down and my Dad didn't even know it was on. Took the bait and went straight up and clobbered my Livingston. Scared the crap out of me. Good times.

RE:Boat Docks For Bass
Oh ya. I fish alot of local lakes for largies in the summer in my small boat or tube. Even though the fish are around docks as well, We've pulled fish from under almost every floating raft on the lake. When conditions were right, you would approach one knowing there's one under there. I never pass o...

RE:locating bass beds
Hey Quad, Not much different than a boat, just back off the bed, she'll lock back on, remember where it is and make longer cast. I also like the idea of sort of fan casting around the areas that look good. Like BassDood said there out there.

Marky Mark, Nice report and good job on scoring some fish. I'm sure you already know this but those times and moments when we loose quality fish like that, will make us better fisherman. Hopefully. I lost 3 good fish at Silver 2 weeks ago #-o I wish I could have figured out 'why' that day instead of...

Way to go AMX and bassman. Just got back from 5 days at Palmer and caught several largies to just over 5#'s and a few decent smallies but couldnt get bit on these colors. Water was really rising. They were pretty picky on color, at least for me. Thought I'd be able to post a few but had to go my con...

I know there will be fish caught on them. The green bait leeched into my white ones a little bit. Still look good just a little twist to them. It looks to be wide open so far. Hope to post some of my own next Monday when I'm back around a computer. Good luck all

Got home last night from Silver and my fish and bites came on other baits. Bildge pump in my boat works great. Just looked at the leader board and don't feel to threatened after the first weekend. Off to Lake Palmer Wednesday morning for 5 days. Mid to high 70's all week. Ahhh

RE:New Basser needs suggestions on bait casting set ups
how much do you want to bet? have you caught a 10 pound largie in Wa state? I have, on a spinning rod and crankbait. Back in '94 and I am still using that very crankbait lots of times. #-o I can't help it. Tom I'll buy you lunch if you can effectively run a buzzbait with your spinning reel. As far ...
