Re: Thomas Lake in Snohomish County
I used to fish it in the late 70's,early 80's and yes, we'ed park along 35th and there was a narrow opening (channel) thru the thick woods that bordred the lake. We would row, push my 8' pram thru. Didn't catch any huge trout but there were nice largies in there. From what I understand it is totally...

RE:If you had one Rod/Reel combo
I've got a couple bait casting reels at home. Although they're not top of the line or anything, but for a high school kid maybe just starting his bass fishing career or tight on money they would work. I'd be happy to give em to you if your interested. A guy can't have to much gear

RE:Getting Discourage
I'm with you spindog, it's all about getting back after it. I've had a chance to get to know Russ this year and in my opinion he's a good angler and has a lot to offer thru his knowlege and Limit Out Marine. In fact last weekend I believe he pulled in about 18 lbs (not an easy feat) to secure first ...

RE:Getting Discourage
Discouraged :-({|= I'm extremely discouraged right now. All I needed was at least 1 largemouth at Silver Lake to weigh last Saturday to make the state team. 6 shorts to 11 inches. All I needed was a 12" fish for points, instead I weighed 0. I expected much more. 2 weeks prior pre fishing I got at le...

RE:Addicted- The Drug
I turned on to bass in '90 and went to Sammamish and had a unbelievaly crazy fun day with smallmouth in my 13'Livingston. Later that year for some reason I bought a pistol grip (don't even use em anymore) and took it up to Reiter after work to try it out. Stepped in between 2 guys and hooked an 8#er...

Yep, We're 'down with the sickness' I used to get in a lot of trouble skiping school to sneak off and go fishig. Hit Silver Lake also Russ and Sunday was pretty good(surprising) and Monday was tough. Just when I thought I was getting something going.

Thank you Mike for puting on the picnic. I really enjoyed meeting and talking to everyone who was able to attend. Thanks tnj8222 for the subs and everybody else for the great potluck. RE:Deeply hooked bass???
If you fish bass long enough it will happen. I won't even hesitate to leave a hook in a basses gullet. My experience has been the more I screw around getting it out the worse the fish has been. Usually dead by the end of the day. The fish with the hook in their mouth seem to be fine. I've caught sev...

RE:Twin Ponds I-5 and 145th N. Seattle
Well, it's a small world. I went to Ridgecrest also. Grew up by the Crest. Ronald bog never was much fun to fish. Just bullheads for us. The best fairly local lake for us was Bitter Lake (1966). My Dad would drop us off in the morning to deliver mail at Bittler Lake Post Office and my Mom would pick...

Mike, looks like I'll be able to make the picnic. Looking forward to meeting everybody and fishing a new lake. I'll most likely be alone, if so I'll post later and open up my backseat to someone who maybe needs a ride. I'll bring some chips

RE:State Record Largemouth Bass
I know the calculaters are only estimates. The latest ones I've used on line put's the fish at 11.40 :-" So there is a lot of discrepancy, especially with our Northwestern fish. But not even close to 14#'s. It was an amazing fish. I, to this day have never seen one like it. Plenty in the 7-9 lb. ran...

Lotta fish stories :^o Well heres another one. Before I became educated on catch and release my son caught a freaky big largie in a small lake in Snohomish county, August with a senko. No scale but lake resident put it on funky old scale. Well over 10#'s. 22 1/2" x 23" girth. Pictures and everything...

RE:Baitcaster Help
For the begining baitcaster, through my experience with my kids the lighter mono worked pretty good. It's certainly a different story for you and I. I might be superstitious but I don't like power pro for my reaction baits. Sure you will catch fish with it all day. I've seen it, but I worry about th...
