Re: 2017 Pike tally

I agree. It sounds like Rick has found some great fish lately. I may just have to head up that way and give them a try. He won't say what body of water he's fishing but I think I have a pretty good idea.

Re: 2017 Pike tally

5 more pike yesterday brings me to 142 on the year. I only fished in Killarney, Cave, Medicine, and Swan. Got two decent fish in Killarney, one at 29" and one at 31". Weeds cover and water clarity in all of these lakes was great, but the fishing was SLOW SLOW SLOW!

Re: 2017 Pike tally

I added 6 more pike to my total for the year on Saturday. That brings me to 137. Still haven't caught any big ones in CAD but I'll keep trying. [biggrin]

Last Mountain Lake Pike and Walleye fishing 2017

Once again Last Mountain Lake has proven to be an outstanding drive to fishing destination. If you are a lover of Pike and walleye fishing, this is the place for you to visit. It seems as though there is nothing much else to do I the area, but if it’s a week full of catching and not just fishing you...

Nice fish. Looks like you're getting the new water dialed in a little.

Re: 2017 Pike tally

Looks like you found some beauties there Rick. Too bad you didn't have the camera running when that thing bit you. Would make for good youtube. I have been planning to fish the north end of PendOreille Lake for some time now but have never actually done it. Maybe I'll have to give it a try this year...

Unsubscribe topic?

Before the latest website changes, there was a highlighted link to click if you wanted to unsubscribe from a forum topic. I imagine it's still available but I'm not finding it. Is it still there somewhere? Sometimes it's nice to drop off your two cents worth on a subject, then not get an email every...

Re: 2017 Pike tally

Maybe next time we should plan a trip in October. Then we'll see fish with some serious GIRTH. As for what a real 44"er looks like. I'm well aware, and plan to see a few of those in the upcoming trip. Here's a thought. Let's all raise our hands for each time we've caught a pike over 45" in the lower...

Re: Large spinnerbaits for tigers

I haven't fished the tigers much but last year, I got after them a couple of times. On the last outing, I had made up a hand made inline spinner with some beads, a 2" orange blade, and put a 5 1/2" Big Hammer swim bait behind it. That makes the bait about 7 1/2- 8" long. I missed one fish and caught...

Re: 2017 Pike tally

13 fish??? WRONG!!!! You now have 22 fish to make up. I added 9 more pike yesterday, bringing my total to 24 for the year. I'm predicting I'll catch at least that many on the first full day in Canada. Lucious, do you see those two little red dots in front of you? That's my tail lights as I'm pulling...

Re: 2017 Pike tally

Gotta get caught up here before the big trip. I released 3 more pike last Saturday, the 13th bringing me to 15 on the year. I'm on the shelf till we head back to Canada on the 2nd of June. I've been waiting for two years to get back to Last Mountain, now it's less than two weeks away!!! I sure hope ...

Re: Holy tongue weight batman!!

This is an interesting thread to follow. I spent over 30 years in the trailer manufacturing industry, but it was with over the road, semi trailers. Boat trailer design and set up are a different creature to me. I did not know that the hitch on the truck needed to be placed as Bodo mentioned, but I w...

Re: indiscriminate gill netting on Lake Spokane/Long Lake?

As I'm sure was done at the POR when they did their gill netting, the reports will show the public what the "Experts" want us to see. The fact that you witnessed more bycatch in the dumpster than they reported is proof that they will not publish the real numbers, and only what they want to show to m...

Long Lake/Lake Spokane trout??

So what kind of trout are in Long Lake? The Packernut and I fished there on /Saturday and had a hay day catching and releasing some very nice healthy looking, hard fighting trout. There seemed to be a difference in the fish though. Some were longer and thinner (top to bottom), with less color, and s...

Re: 2017 Pike tally

Well I finally got out on Saturday to get my 2017 Pike Talley going. The Packernut and I fished the main lake for a couple of hours to no avail, so we moved into the chain lakes to try to find some fish. We found some clean water and we found some dirty water. The clean water lake produced a few fis...
