RE:pinks are coming
Caught my first pink today in the Nisqually. Picked up a jack and a nice size hatchery fish as well. See how the pink eats tonight.

RE:Humpy Hollow - Friday
Good luck tomorrow. I was going but my fishing partner backed out and I don't feel like making the drive to go by myself. Always safer with someone else in the boat, plus its nice to have someone to run the net if I ever get to use it this year!

RE:Humpy Hollow - Friday
Thinking about heading up there Friday as well. Fishing out of a 12fter so I am watching the weather to see if it is going to cooperate. Still waiting on my first Salmon for the year, so hopefully I can get some pink action.

RE:Mouth of the Nisqually?
No luck again this trip quite the opposite actually. Lines in at 0445 trolled until 1315. Coming in at dead low was interesting. Motor died on me and I ended up pulling the boat from the edge of the flats to launch. WDFW was out there and they gave a guy next to me a ticket for having a treble on ji...

Mouth of the Nisqually?
Anyone tried fishing the mouth of the Nisqually. Tried a couple times with zero takes downs not even a flounder. Trolled herring, spoons nothing. Did mark some fish but the only thing I saw with a salmon was a couple of seals. Worked from 25 to 85 ft deep on the rigger fishing all the way up to ketr...

RE:Hood canal in a 12ft boat
Definetely was doable for the first two hours. Trolled a humpy rig with no success. Was almost to hoodsport when I had a popoff, as i pulled up the rigger the damn tension knob came off. Ended the day for the downrigger. Tried jigging with no luck. Everyone else in bigger boats was heading farther n...

RE:Hood canal in a 12ft boat
Yeah I am flying solo. Don't have a ton of gear but this is my week off so I am going to hit it hard tomorrow. Might have a seat if someone has their own gear, gas is not a problem in my boat.

Hood canal in a 12ft boat
Is it doable? Have a 12 foot boat with downrigger and wanted to see if you guys think its doable. Fished mouth of the nisqually this am with no luck so looking at the creel report I thought I would head up there early and try for pinks. Any advice?

horsehead bay area
Heading over to Gig harbor to do some camping with the family but going to take my small boat and do some crabbing and fishing. Whats to be had. Don't have a downrigger yet but thinking of trolling with planer and herring to see what happens. Any ideas would be appreciated.

RE:Crabbing for the first time
I just started crabbing myself and so far the best results I have had is with fresh or frozen flounder carcasses once in a while soaked with some anchovie oil. Might be a stupid question but can you use clam stomachs/remainders after cleaning them. Good luck crabbing. I have been getting plenty of r...

Pinks in the south?
I have lived here for almost two years now and this is the first i am going to get to fish the whole first half of the salmon season. When do the pinks show up and how far south do they go. I have a small boat that I take out of solo point quite a bit lately and I am wondering when I should start lo...
