Re: Anybody experienced with the Lowrence Elite 5 TI sonar unit

They help but good practice to still put some dielectric gel in the connectors. I have had condensation get into them when installed for a length of time. That will keep the connections good.

Re: Anybody experienced with the Lowrence Elite 5 TI sonar unit

I've had an Elite 5 for about 6 yrs now. The only time I had problems was when I cracked the transponder. Once it's dialed in it shows me a pretty good picture. I have used it on fresh and saltwater.

What I have been told by a warden is if they can't hood a fingernail on it then it is considered barbless.

Re: Kokanee fishing this year

Only got out a few times to Clear Lake and American this year. I did not do very good with kokes but did catch alot of rainbow. I threw everything in the box at them. Seemed pretty slow for them.

The best I did for kokes was when I was fishing Baker Lake for sockeye. We caught atleast 10 up there.

I was up there last weekend and came home with four. They are spread throughout the lake from dam to Noisy.

Re: Baker Lake, Shannon Creek Launch

Ditto on the skeeters, some years they can eat you alive. Leaving the boat in the water is not a problem, just be aware that the level can change a foot overnight. I got caught on the beach acouple years ago and had to get pulled off. Now I just leave alittle slack to get off easier.

I'm having the same problem with mine. It won't let me see new posts, just generic search page.

Re: Mount St. Helens

Just getting up after a long night out. Heard the booms in sedro-woolley and thought somebody was blowing stumps pretty early. That afternoon I got activated with my national guard unit and started for eastern washington for 2 1/2 weeks cleaning up.

I live near there and they have great prices on the pork belly I use for making bacon. We've been going there for years.

Re: What Are You Using To Filet Salmon On

something I have used in the past is a piece of plywood with some sticky back sandpaper on it. I didn't have any problem getting slimed up and the sandpaper stayed on pretty well. I just put it in a few places to keep it from slipping. No problem with the cleanup either.

Re: Lake Sammamish

Went out today with about 10 other boats on the water. I only stayed from 6:30-10:30 and did not see anyone catch anything except me. It wasn't salmon but a nice 16" 2# cutthroat. I caught it on a K14 blue kwikfish.

Lake Sammamish

Does anyone know if any salmon caught in Lake Sammamish needs to be fin clipped or not? I went through the regs and could not find anything that told me.

I have a fairly heavy 16' aluminum sled that does 30 mph pretty consistantly. Running lower throttle at 26-27 is pretty comfortable on gas.

Re: Baker Lake

There tends to be wood floating in the lake all the time. Just depends on the wind as to where you will run into it. Last year I thought I was fishing in a log yard for awhile. Swift Creek would be the best launch for your small boat. You will only need to run about 1/2 mile to get to the good fishi...
