Opening Weekend!

Well the April 22nd opener this year seems to have taken extra long. Is anyone going to any local (westside) lakes this weekend to catch some stockers? I will be at lake Padden around midnight on Saturday morning. [thumbsup] I will also be out there about all weekend, taking my kayak Saturday and ho...

My dad has one that is a fly/spin combo, in a 4 piece travel case. He has used it for 30 years!

Re: Camping/Trout Fishing Lake for Family

I would really suggest silver lake as well. It provides great trout fishing and it is in a beautiful area, you can even cruise up to the Mt Baker area or Nooksack falls one afternoo

Re: New to Anacortes - Looking for a good place to fish

I will be at Padden this weekend to catch stockers, but you know I will be avoiding the boat launch and shore, taking my kayak out! There will be some hungry trout out there.

Re: Pontoon problems

Brandweeds, I was looking for some other stuff this weekend, checking the online sales sites, of course CL but there's some new kids on the block, "Let Go" and "Offer Up" I know both had several toons posted, brand new in the box, and one of them had a small WW rig that had substantially larger tub...

Whenever you think your about to get skunked, throw on a whacky rigged senko. I always have one on one of my rods whenever I go for bass.

Re: Pontoon problems

Thanks for the detailed reply! I will look into what pump I should get if I go pick one up. I am talking to a guy who is selling two of them for 250 bucks.... Cross my fingers I can make a deal with him. I don't have a lot of breathing room on the price so if i can pick those babies up I might get t...

I'm doing to Mystery tackle box and not the Lucky tackle box. What species did you opt for? I say we compare them when May's come in!

Re: Pontoon problems

Okay, my Costco has the wilderness pontoon for 299. Is it worth it?? I might get it on Monday. Only question I would have, do the trolling motor and battery (if you add them) sink down the back of the pontoon at all? I feel like that's a lot of added weight

Re: Tackle subscription boxes?

I am subscribed to mystery tackle box, for 15 bucks a month. I would say on average, there is at least $20.00 of baits and lures in each box, as well as a few random things like a scratch off ticket to win more stuff. They also sometimes have some tips and info on how to catch fish with the given ba...

Re: Ask an ex-WDFW employee anything!

Okay I will see about giving that a shot. I have had luck with cone head wooly bugger on a floating fly line and longer leader, not allowing them to sink too deep. I have also heard that the hatchery fish stay shallow in the lakes after being planted, so either way it sounds like a good idea to keep...

Re: Ask an ex-WDFW employee anything!

Okay Junior,

In your opinion, best stocker bow tackle for opening day? I feel like they are less inclined to go after flies and would almost prefer flashy spinners and bright smelly power bait. What do you think? Do they go after what looks similar to the feed from hatcheries?

I will be heading down there as well, memorial day weekend. If anyone knows of some good smallie waters and feels like sharing with the class, it would really help me out!

Re: SW Washington Fishing

I am primarily interested in trying my hand at trout fishing using ultra-light and light spinning gear, but want to branch out to try my hand at salmon and steelhead in the future. Find a lake on the WDFW webiste that lists a species of trout in season this month, and preferably one with a good fis...

What Costco did you get that from? I have a hole in my float tube and I can't decide between another one or a pontoon like that.
