Re: Boat Hull Repair

Ouch!!!! I think there is a Boat Shop close to the Everett Boat Launch. I would suggest calling the Everett Marina as they could perhaps steer you in the right direction.

Re: 5 horse on 16 foot John boat

Ya know what.....I've done my share of crazy stunts like going through the Tacoma Narrows in a 12 footer "Numerous Times" and have been extremely lucky. There is no such thing as being over cautious.

Re: Boater Education Card

I just went online and passed it. No need to study. I'm not required to have a card but it's a good show, I did it so there's no excuse for anyone to not have one. One more step to weed out the dumb @$$es. I believe those types are going to be out there regardless. As the great philosopher Ron Whit...

Re: Help W/ trolling motor size for my boat

Pulled the trigger lastnight. I found a Minn kota 42" 50 lb at Walmart for under $200, now just the battery. Again thanks guys for the inputs. Congrats on the new Trolling Motor!!! Just something to keep in mind if you purchased the Minn kota with the Digital Maximizer technology: They are great un...

Re: Re-Mounting"new"Transducers- Aluminum Boat

That's how mine is mounted (though no salt use) and no issues with mine either. On my previous boat I did something similar using heavy guage aluminum and affixed it to the hull using marine grade epoxy. To mount the transducer, I countersunk two stainless screws in the back side of the plate and s...

Re: Fish Finder Suggestions

I have $60,000 invested in a boat, motor, gear and baits all to catch a fish with a brain the size of a pea. I wouldn't have it any other way. Yep It's insane. I hate to add up what I have invested in fishing when one considers the boat, the gear/tackle and the tow rig, not to mention the fuel cost...

Re: Fish Finder Suggestions

I've got a Hummingbird 597 ci hd combo and like it real well. It has build in GPS, a color screen and dual frequencies. Just wish I spent a little more money and went up a model or two with a bigger screen. Still, not bad for $500.00. http://fishfinders.factoryoutletstore.com/details/36648/humminbir...

Re: Ol' Girl gets a new Ol' Girl

It's GREAT to see things are coming together with the new rig. I'm sure that 70 hp two stroke moves the boat across the water pretty good and I'm sure it will be even better once the power trim is fixed.

Re: Placement of downriggers

So for my "Two Cents Worth" I would say either the 1 or 2 position. Yes, you have increased chances of wrapping a DR cable in the prop particularly when fishing Salt Water with the currents and increased trolling speeds. However, increasing the size of the DR weights reduces the blow back and the ch...

Re: Ol' Girl gets a new Ol' Girl

Congrats Toni!!!! Looks like a nice rig. Based on the pic, the trailer appears to be in decent shape structurally. If it's a wiring issue, that's an easy fix. Been there and done that a few times. Appears that you have some experts helping you out. However, if you need anything You've got my phone #.
