Re: Wall mounted rod holder options, or DIY?

My dad made me this for xmas a few years ago. but most of my rods are stored in rafters of my garage.... I have a stairway to the 2nd floor of my garage that makes easy access to the rods.

Re: Eagle Claw Featherlight Kokanee/Casting rods are here!

I used mine up at Baker... caught lots of fish.. our biggest sockeye (7.7lbs) was caught on the banana rod..... It was paired up with a Tica kokane reel and 16 pound main line...

Swapped out the 16 pound line with 10 and now we are on our way to try for Kokanee on Lake Cavanaugh this weekend..

Re: Island in Lake Kapowsin

About 15 years ago i actually worked at the boat rental place on Kapowsin for a summer. People would rent a boat and camp for a weekend or sometimes 4 or 5 days on that island with zero issues. sometimes it would be a group of young kids, father and son or a sketchy looking tweeker group..... Althou...

Re: Lake Merwin fisherman, get in here...

On a scale of 1-10, how sketchy is the area around the launches? Heading to Mayfield for a few days in August but want to try Merwin for a half day and all our supplies will be in the back of the truck. (couple ice chests/totes of food) Anybody ever have their vehicle messed with there? I would go ...

Re: Lake washington sockeye

350K is a lot of fish!!! I hope it opens up someday, but one thing that upsets me is when I see the nets fishing for “silvers” in September and catching sockeye as a by-catch.. and then throwing the dead sockeye back into the lake. And should the lake be closed to all fishing from June-September to ...

Natives given the “ok” to kill seals?

I was recently at a local outdoor sports store and I was talking to employee about the seal issue in the Puget Sound area. He told me the Native tribes have been given the ok to kill them to protect the killer whale population. I did a quick google search but could find anything. Has anyone else her...

Re: Lake Merwin fisherman, get in here...

We focused our efforts at the woodland and waterfall area. We got fish from 35-62, with 50-60 being the most productive zone for us. They never seemed to key in on one specific scent of corn. We got just as many fish on gulp magots as corn. I also used little pieces of cured prawns. We got fish on b...

Re: Lake Merwin fisherman, get in here...

We fished Merwin for the 1st time…
Arrived at Cresap bay campground Saturday, set up camp, launched the boat and did a little scouting around the lake.
Sunday we got soaked and ended up with 9.
Monday we only fished until 10AM and ended up with 5.

I posted a report with pics

Re: Eagle Claw Featherlight Kokanee/Casting rods are here!

I picked up a 8 footer... it's a bit heavy.. more heavy duty (back-bone) than a white or red lamaglass kokanee rod. Very sensative and seems like it will work great. I think it would be the perfect size for lake Wenatchee sockeye, Lake Roosevelt Kokanee...... I'm bringing it to Baker Lake this summe...

Re: Sammamish

I post some reports….but they are minimal. For me posting a report is more of “showing off or look what I caught.” I fish for the personal satisfaction of “figuring them out” I have gotten a few personal emails asking me for tips and techniques used but I rarely reply to them. Does this make me a se...

Re: Sammamish

It takes me 50 minutes to get to this lake so I have only fished it two times in my life. Both times we did very well. The first time (black Friday) was insane….. Limit within 45 min. Then we fished it a few weeks ago with near the same success…. The fish are not huge.. 14-15 inches and a few over 1...

Re: Strangest by Catch pictures!

Uuuggg! You guys with the hook-in-hand pics are giving me the willies! Ouch to both of you! Just think of those pics of the hooks in our hands as a “friendly reminder” of how sharp and dangerous the hooks are…. I have been fishing my entire life and thank goodness this has only happened one time.. ...
