I am going to try to fish the marinas and beach in the Bellingham area. I will use soft plastics with jigheads. What kinda fish could I expect to catch? Any other advice?

Trout fishing at Padden drops off quite a bit about one month after the opening weekend. It can take a couple of hours to limit out come the end of May into June.

$11 on ebay. You can find some without the segmented bodies for around $8. I know that is alot for one lure but I figured if that bait can help me catch a 7 pounder it is worth it. Besides the one I bought is a floater so I have a better chance of retrieving it.

Smallmouth would be the bass of choice in Padden with the clear water, big rocks, big crawdads and deep water (think kokanee). They would get fat too off of the trout.
