Re: Downrigger mounting on Sorensen/Livingston type boat

I didn't catch how long your Sorensen is but a 2x6 layed gunwale to gunwale at the oarlocks works great. Once in place, drill up through the oarlock to get the right angle. Then through bolt through the board and oarlock. Attach the DR mounts to either end of the 2x6. Easy-peasy

Re: Lake Cavanaugh Fishing opportunities

Congratulations, excellent choice and sounds like you already have a great catch. Lake Cavanaugh is a fun fishery in May. Rainbow, cutts and kokanee will all be active. The lake has a few monster rainbow, lots of skinny to nice cutthroat and a fair population of kokanee. Along with the usual 10-13" ...

2 Cannon Magnum 5 ST Downriggers 4sale

We have 2 Cannon electric downriggers for sale. 1 is used and worked when we swapped one of our boats to Scotty. The other was a raffle winner from a local derby that has never been out of the box. Both are Cannon Magnum 5 ST downriggers. Amazon currently has the new Magnum 5 ST at 385.98. We are as...

Our Friend the Furnance

We have heat! I know, so what and what am I talking about? Almost 3 weeks ago our furnance threw a code and shut down. Being one that is both cheap and think that I can fix anything I rolled up my sleeves put an a stocking hat (it was 14° out) and broke out the 20 year old furnance manual. Based on ...

Re: Brands of welded hull boats..?

Portland has a lot more "sportsmen" than Seattle So a lot more of our kinda boats. My DB came from half way there. The big thing about down there is no Amazon or Microsquish to inflate the prices. Buy there, sell here. Give a shout if you want to make a run and look at some. Our drift boat was an O...

Re: Snow...

One if our daughters just clobbered a deer out by Darrington. The car is drivable and she was shaken up but ok. At our end I have cabin fever bad but have a project that popped up with the cold weather. The middle of last week our furnance died. I have had it apart three differnt times. It will run ...

Morning Chris,

Have you made any decisions? Something enclosed with a heater would be nice.

Re: Lake Washington Boat Launch in Kenmore

The slough is doable with almost any OB. Just keep your line leaving the slough. That said, take it slow and be aware of the depth. As with Mike's boat there are times when I have to tilt the main on my 21' Thunderjet to get to the deeper water. They used to dredge the lower slough. In my uneducated...

Re: Winter glove recommendations??

I have a pair of gloves similar to the Simms previously described. They work great just don't wipe your cold nose with the back of the glove or the velcro will get you.

I got mine at Outdoor Emporium in Seattle for about 15 dollars. OE has quite a collection of purpose based gloves.

Re: ISO: Starboard

Last time I purchased Starboard I ordered through Amazon. It was a Amazon Prime purchase so I got it in 2 days. It was a special purchase, I needed 1.5" sheet to fab into a couple custom hinges.
