Re: jig n bobber in salt for pinks
I prefer a slip bobber. A bit off topic (but still helpful) I finally figured out a way to keep bobber stops from shifting or catching on the top line guide then sliding down. I use the wire pull rubber stops (from South Bend) and ran a stop about 25-30 feet up the line on my salt water pole then pl...

I've had better luck trolling on the incoming but try convincing others of that who don't believe it (or won't try) *lol*

Re: Kyak point crabbing
Hi. We're looking for responsible people with a boat to take us crabbing in north 8-2 near Kayak Point. Can meet at the boat launch next week or preferably early Monday morning. We have out own gear and are not new to crabbing or fishing. Can pitch in reasonably or bring a hearty lunch and snacks. J...

Re: rigged hoochie storage
What about a dollar store pool noodle? They're used for everything else *lol* A bit off topic but we're nearby the Stilly and it's the lowest it's been in 86 years! It looks like ankle deep still water puddles. We won't be fishing the Stilly (or other rivers) anytime soon :(

Re: Area 8-2/ Everett crabbing advice
Just north of there's pretty good. We're looking for responsible people to go crabbing with in north 8-2. We have plenty of crab gear, just no boat. If you're looking for a couple people to go along, just give a holler. We are respectable smokers and early risers.

Suggestion re Anyone looking for fishing crew/help?
Your post is somewhat confusing. It's hard to tell if you're looking for work on a commercial boat or wanting to go out on a recreational trip. It kind of comes across as both. You might want to be a little more specific in your post. Just a friendly suggestion. ((((((Fish On))))))

To G-Man: Stick Buoys & a Pair of 10x50 Binocs
To G-Man: I have to differ with you when you said "use the smallest buoys you have. the biggest buoys/flags draw the most attention". I switched to stick buoys because they're easier to keep an eye on. No more hunting and pecking to find our pots from a distance. We have a pair of 10 x 50 binoculars...

Re: Trolling Rod / Reel
To zen leecher aka Bill W: please explain the "wrong way" to release down riggers so that readers in here don't end up with poles snapped in half. Some people get in a big ol' hurry to get their gear out. Useful tips are appreciated

Suggestion re the Tulalip bubble
To Ling King: Ebey launch is tidal, extremely shallow and narrow. Since crabbing opened, Everett sometimes yields a 45 minute wait. KP has a great launch. The bubble is due south from the launch and close by. Launch is next to the pier. I'm hoping to get out that way to go crabbing soon.

Re: would you use a boat left on the shore of a secluded lak
A boat that is abandoned or for public use should be marked as such. That way, there's no confusion or consequences. Otherwise, it's not worth risking your life, jail time or court appearances over.

would you use a boat left on the shore of a secluded lake?
One poster took it a step further and said they would use any "random" boat that wasn't locked up or secured. There's a big difference between clearly abandoned and any accessible boat. That is not only trespassing and stealing, it's also a good way to be jailed or shot by the owner. Would you like ...

Re: Tulalip bubble
It's too bad they couldn't dredge out a deeper channel from Ebey. Everett or Kayak Point park has good launches. I wouldn't recommend Mukilteo. That launch should be re-named the Bearing Sea Boat Launch. It's pretty rough *lol*

Boat Camping on Lake Shannon or Baker Lake July
Thank you for the input Quad. It sounds more feasible to have someone drop us (and the boat) off at the launch so no vehicle is left at the launch overnight while camping. I wouldn't want to risk leaving a vehicle unattended for several reasons. From the launch, I keep picturing some of the coves WS...

Question? the fresh-water lobsterette - crawfish lakes *UPDA
I haven't seen anyone in here refer to crawfish as mud dogs. I was born in Seattle yet raised in New Orleans. It was common to hear fishermen calling them mud dogs. For flavor, we'd throw in a small pouch of Louisiana crab boil in the kettle. Yum! Is anyone else familiar with that term?
