Yep, I still enjoy bass fishing but there's just something about chasing those tigers

Well done 8. How many miles did you rack up?
Did you discover anything that really surprised you? Is there one area or body of water that you just can't wait to return to without the time constraint?

Re: Merwin is fished out and other feeble excuses

Fished it back in August for the first time. I really like it, too bad it's so far from my home. Trust me, we've ALL been laughed at by the muskies at one time or another.

I feel like we're all reading a really good book, you want to keep reading but you also don't want to see it end. Will miss the updates and YouTube vids but also hoping for a strong finish. Give er hell

Re: Lake Merwin fisherman, get in here...

Thanks again to salmonkiller, advice on using Cresap launch was spot on. Very clean, nice facility. Seemed to be campground employees all over the place. Guy at the gate didn't charge us, just asked how many people were in the vehicle.

Thanks AJ's Dad
I may switch it over but still kinda attached to the musky in my existing avi. That trip was a grind I'll never forget

Re: New personal best

Thanks fisherman92
I've pulled a couple of tigers out of cover near swimming areas and the reactions are priceless! They really don't want anything to do with humans but having felt the bite of those teeth before, swimming with them makes me a bit uneasy lol

Yes Quad, my head could've fit in his mouth (that very thought went through my mind as I was cutting the hooks out of his mouth)

New personal best

Caught my new personal best after about 4 hours of scouting Merwin. I didn't get a weight or length as my priority is to get them released as quickly as possible. Honestly, I feel it would've given the state record a serious run for its money but man what an experience!

You could keep your 12' jon boat and just pick up one of those load support extensions that slide into the hitch. Just a thought.
The Do Not Disturb feature in my phone gets used often when I'm fishing, that way my family can still contact me.

Was watching your video thinking, "8's hitting burnout here"
Good decision to temporarily call it and pick up later.

P.S. that part about the work emails not stopping...I heard that, brother

Lake Tapps launch options

Heading down to Lake Tapps Friday morning and found out the park launch doesn't open until 6am. I would really like to get on the water earlier than that, lake info says there's a city launch but I can't seem to find any info (fees, hours, location)
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Lake Merwin fisherman, get in here...

On a scale of 1-10, how sketchy is the area around the launches? Heading to Mayfield for a few days in August but want to try Merwin for a half day and all our supplies will be in the back of the truck. (couple ice chests/totes of food) Anybody ever have their vehicle messed with there? I would go ...
