RE:Auger Comparison?

It depends how much you want to spend. The best hand auger on the market bar none is the Normark Swedish Finn Bore III. It sells for about $130.00. Mora makes a great auger as well and range in price from $59-$89. If you are just planning on perch or trout fishing a 6" auger (diameter) will suit you...

RE:Spokane Area Ice Fishing

We use salad shrimp quite a bit, the small precooked shrimp you put on salads. You can buy them by the pound at almost any grocery store. An agg loop is handy when using them as they are rather soft. Salad shrimp are actually a fresh water shrimp so the scent on them is similiar to the fresh water s...

My first outing of the year.

Had a pretty good day out on Bull Prairie yesterday. The kid had more luck than me and my buddy. It was a fun day, I love the fact that my boy is finally big enough to really enjoy ice fishing. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g39/whlfans/th_jakeice2.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g39/whlfan...

RE:Looking for some information

Hello Lefty, I spend a lot of time on the seep lakes. Soda, most of the ice fishing is down on the south end. 35 to 40 feet seems to be a good depth to start looking for the Perch. Not many Crappie in Soda but you can get Walleye from time to time. Long, Again the South end gives up mostly Perch an...

Looking for some information

Has anyone fished the Seep Lakes or Potholes Reservoir through the ice before? I'm really wanting to try the small lakes below Potholes this winter and would like to get some suggestions or tips from those who fish them through the ice. Crappie,Perch and Walleye would be my preference but I would be...

RE:Potholes,Seep lakes area?

Thanks, Kfedka. I do keep track of all the temps in the regions I fish. Here in Oregon most of our high lakes have got a good 8 to 10" of solid ice on them right now. I know they do some hardwater fishing on Potholes I just haven't done any there yet. As for the Tri Cities, it has been pretty cold t...

6" Eskimo Ice Auger (Hand Crank)

For sale, 6" Eskimo Ice Auger. Only used a few times. Blades are still razor sharp. I have upgraded augers this year but this is still a great "starter" auger. $40 or make offer. I'd also consider trading auger for an "ice fishing guide" on Potholes Reservoir or the Seep lakes. http://i52.photobucke...

Potholes,Seep lakes area?

First and foremost, What an awesome forum! I just discovered it today. I am an Oregonian but love the hardwater!!! I do quite a bit of ice fishing here in Oregon for trout but would like to start learning a little bit about catching Crappie, perch, gills and Walleye through the ice. I have fished Soda...
