I would be most concerned about the weight of the 12hp motor. You can have a prop shop re-pitch your prop if it trolls too fast.

A hewescraft sportsman or better yet a searunner in 18-20ft is a great NW boat. Raider makes a comparable boat at a reasonable price. Like others have said it's always a compromise.
